Some thoughts and quotes...

I initially was on Clemson. However, I am now either passing or playing VA as home dog, probably as part of a teaser.

This is a game of strength vs. strength. UVA QB Schaub has 16 TD passes with 4 INT [115 of 168 for 1319 yds, and [QB rating of 161!!!], and Clemson D has only given up 5...against some good teams...maybe this is an indication of teams running at the Tigers...for example, I was also not too impressed with the Tiger's D's tackling last week vs. Jones of FSU. He ran through them like a hot knife through butter...165 yards and 3 touchdowns of 272 yds rushing total.

However, Simmons, the QB for CU seems to be peaking. [94-163 for 1064 yards, with 6 TDs and 5 INTs, QB rate 116]

"The Cavaliers are catching Simmons after his most inspired performance of the season, when he had 347 yards in total offense Oct.3 in a 48-31 loss at Florida State. In addition to completing 17 of 27 passes for 293 yards and two touchdowns, he rushed 13 times for 50 yards." He has 3 big 6'4" receivers to go to, which favors Clemson.

I have to believe the Clemson squad may have used up a lot of emotion in last weeks game against "DAD" . Va is improved a bit under Groh, and would LOVE to upset the Tigers, who have dominated this series historically [something like 33-5].

Also, news letter from Clemson says they are banged up in the Offensive line, and will use a "patchwork" line with some youger players: "With several injuries and a patchwork offensive line, several new faces enter the two-deep depth chart this week..."

Clemson also has some special teams issues, giving up at least 3 TDs on kick runback.

However, Clemson lost on a last second TD last year at Happy Valley... UVA's victory knocked Clemson out of the top 25, and they ended the season poorly, losing 4 of 6. As the Richmond Times Dispatch headlined today..."CLEMSON IS OUT FOR REVENGE"...

Virginia, starting today, faces 5th toughest national schedule...next 7 opponents are 28-10...

Good luck with your picks, whatever they may be....TT:confused:
