I like Clemson for two reasons :

Reason one is their comparitive performance against Ga Tech ,
Clemson : 9/20/2003 @Ga.Tech W 39-3
NC State : 10/4/2003 @Ga.Tech L 21-29

Reason two is both teams are banged up but I think the toll is worst on NC State:
"The North Carolina State Wolfpack (4-3) picked up a big 31-24 victory over Connecticut on Saturday, but they also picked up three major injuries to their starting lineup. Renaldo Moses (DE), Ricky Fowler (G), and Lamont Reid (CB) will all be planted on the sidelines for Thursday's matchup with the Clemson Tigers (4-2).
North Carolina State gives up about 30 points every week, so seeing three starters hitting the sidelines is a nasty loss. And with Clemson, who is coming off a huge overtime win over Virginia, coming to town the Wolfpack knows it will be in tough on Thursday. This will be a test for us," senior wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery told The News & Observer. "We always said we had a lot of talent and depth on the team, where we can throw other guys in. Those guys will have to pick it up this week.
We're not talking one injury. We have a lot of injuries. But everybody will have to be ready, regardless of who plays, because Clemson will come in looking for revenge for last year,"

Only think that concerns me is Clemson just knocked a team out of the top 25 and they may want to rest on their laurels for a game.
Other opinions welcomed and encouraged.

I like Clemson a lot, bubba. Two teams going in different directions. Clemson has a 50-50 shot of winning this game.

Thanks Jeff; I had it at 70-40 actually :D

My take is Vegas is very busy right now and doesn't have a lot of time to devote to non-top-25 games, esp. with college and pro basketball right around the corner, which leaves a lot of opportunities for the intelligent investor. I think they're spending about 30 seconds throwing out what seems like reasonable lines and on to the next game.

Fred: What do you think of Clemson at NC State?
Ed: I dunno, who cares? NC State - 5. Next.

Just my 2c.

Bubba, not agreeing or dis-agreeing with your pick..you make some very good valid points....thanks for posting them.

but if i put in 12 hours on a game for example the ---
utah st./north texas game...the certain offices will put in 20 hours....

it goes thru the hands down process...and checked.

no matter what time of the year it is....all have assignments.

...have to agree with IE here. Whadda ya think they pay those fellas makin' tha lines on every game on an annual basis???

:hail ...as a wise man once told me, "no one knows as much about these match-ups as the linesmaker...." :nono:

An  ...work to improve your memory, concentrate more and pay attention to detail.... work to curb any impulsive behavior before it has the chance to get out of control.... don't panic about anything...keep calm. :SIB

p.s. I wish I were what I was when I wished I were what I am.... :yup

taoist, actually the news /legs workers get paid shit for what they do...some of them are here at madjacks looking on...not members, but i can tell by their isp's when they are visiting or browsing...dedicated group they are.

but most of all, lets not lose fact of Bubba's start of the thread in asking about this particular game..he brought up some valid points in looking at this game and i would hate too see this thread veer from that.

IE, no offense intended, and none taken, my friend.... None to bubba either. I was referring to the guys that actually make the opening lines....

...and I can see bubba's points...and valid they are..., but...as for yours truly, I'll side with NC st. and lay the wood.

game note:

NC State's offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone, and Clemson's defensive coordinator John Lovett have coached together on the same team for over 7 years - Auburn from 1999 to 2001 and under Tubberville at OleMiss for 4 years before that.

advantage Clemson +5.5 and under 57.

any thoughts? :SIB

gordon, thanks for the tidbit, but why does that favor the defense? The OC has just as much advantage as the DC in this situation as the OC knows the DC's tendencies/schemes.
