I dont understand why they didnt just run the ball go to half down 6 and regroup...these coaches are so stupid....you have 33 yards passing why risk it and not go into half....its different if you are passing and moving the ball well

"the bunker"
this game is on in my area...and i was watching it on and off....

this parker is horrific....the announcers are saying that the receivers can`t get open...but he`s missed his open recivers by 5 yards on most throws...

I think the refs screwed the call on the fair catch muff earlier unless NCAA is different from NFL.

A few games back Jacoby Jones of the Texans called for a fair catch and muffed it. He went to catch it in mid air only to have a defender snatch it first.
The ruling on a fair catch was the ball was not fumbled since it didn't hit the ground yet. I had never heard of that but Texans kept the ball.

The announcer quoted some rule # about muffs on fair catch must hit the ground to become live ball.

Same thing in this but too lazy to look up the rule.

If the receiver "muffs" the ball (touches it, but then fails to field it cleanly), then the ball can be recovered by the kicking team once the ball touches the ground.

Looks like the refs blew it. Player still has the chance to catch it before it hits the ground.

Here it is. It is good when you are right. :0074

According to the NCAA rules:

"When a Team B player makes a fair catch, the ball becomes dead where caught and belongs to Team B at that spot. When a valid fair catch signal is made, the unimpeded opportunity to catch a free or scrimmage kick is extended to a player who muffs the kick and still has an opportunity to complete the catch.
"This protection terminates when the kick touches the ground. If the player subsequently catches the kick, the ball is placed where it was first touched."
