DIG DEEPER:

Red Raiders looking for first bowl win in 7 years.
Red Raiders' coach Leach is 0-2 in the post-season.
Red Raiders were favored in each of last 4 bowl games (0-4 SU).
Red Raiders 2-4 ATS on grass.

Tigers won 3 of last 4 games with Whitehurst at QB.
Tigers have won once in last 6 bowl appearances.
Tigers 10-21-1 ATS last 32 overall.
Tigers 8-2 ATS as non-conference dog off non-conference game.
Tigers 0-4 vs ranked teams this season.
Bowden is 1-2 in bowl games.
Tigers 5-6-1 ATS on grass.

CONCLUSION:

Since 1980, nine teams have played in a bowl game after allowing 54 or more points in their previous game. None of those nine teams won the bowl game. Texas Tech allowed 60 points to Oklahoma in its last game. Clemson comes into this game with more momentum and confidence than Texas Tech. The Tigers have won three of their last four games with Whitehurst at the helm. The players love this guy! Give me the team with the better running game and better scoring defense. That would be Clemson.

Agree wholeheartedly on most of your points. I certainly think that Texas Tech is a very unattractive favorite, here. But....saying that Clemson has the better running game is not saying much since Tech's running game really consists within their WR's on quick outs. It's all about YAC with them. Anyway, Clemson's Yusef Kelly amassed a grand total of 500 yards on the ground this year. That stat sure doesn't exactly prove their rushing prowess. I think neither team is worthy of support here, but I would rather be on the Clemson side than Tech.

Good Luck to All!

In order to be successful in bowl games, you must at least possess the threat of a running game. One of the biggest reasons Texas Tech is 0-4 SU in its last four bowl games, is due to the opposing teams' lack of respect for the Red Raiders' running game. Expect to see a lot of blitzing by Clemson's defense tonight. Good luck to you!

TECH RB RUSHING
Taurean Henderson 143 CARRIES 733 YDS 5.1 YPC 6
TD'S

TECH RB RECEIVING
Taurean Henderson 90 CATCHES 577 YDS 5 TD'S

I understand what your saying about the running game, but here's Clemson's top 2 rushers

Clemson Rushing
Yusef Kelly 120 carries 505 yds 4.2 ypc 8 td's
Bernard Rambert 113 carries 485 yds 4.3 ypc 6 td's

Clemson Passing
Yusef Kelly 16 catches 80 yds 0 td's
Bernard Rambert 11 catches 96 yds 0 td's

I don't see that much of an advantage.

The biggest factor I see is Tech playing on grass, where we are absolutely horrible.

Rooting my ass off to break this bowl drought, before you make a play on the game I'd check out the rushing numbers a little closer.

Based on your numbers, I see 733 rushing yards/6 TDs for Henderson, and 985 rushing yards/14 TDs combined for Kelly and Rambert. I didn't say Clemson is a much better rushing team than Texas Tech. I said, I will take the team with the better running game. The Tigers will run the football tonight to keep the Red Raiders' offense off the field. I believe they will be successful. Good luck tonight!
