This team had allot of pressure on them to go undefeated. They were not getting in with one loss. Now the pressure is off, and the D will be rested. Look out, this will not be close. Has nothing to do with last year. Clemson has more talent than Oklahoma and the better QB. :0corn:0corn

Could have very easily gone to OT with Carolina if the fix wasn't in on a blatant wrong call on offsides on the onside kick.

I also look to how they dominated Oklahoma in the bowl game last year and are somehow not even favored in this one. I say do yourself a favor and take Oklahoma. Prob gonna be Alabama beating Oklahoma for the title.

What has Oklahoma done to impress anyone? Beat Baylor, TCU and OK State who all were playing back up QBs?

Lose to Texas?

Colour me unimpressed for one and I'll be backing Clemson as a huge play.

All great points. also lets not forget that
Bob Stoops is a terrible big game coach.

I like Clemson but haven't pulled the trigger because the line stinks.
Clemson shoulda been favored. I think Vegas is up to something makin OU the fav.
Makes me feel like Vegas is begging for Clemson $.

I'm not sure I agree, is Watson any better than Mayfield? I might even give the edge to Mayfield as a passer he's thrown for more TD's and less INT's with less attempts but stats aside Mayfield is a gamer and plays with an edge. Not that Watson doesn't but Mayfield just gives me the impression that he has his team behind him a little more. It's six one half dozen or the other between them, Watson appears to have the better wheels.

I'm not knocking a play on Clemson but I think the edge in QB is about even.
Big game boob vs Dabo, hmm another toss up maybe.
OK has a weak record with wins against banged up TCU and Baylor, the loss to Tx was on the road.
Clem has beaten UNC, ND and FSU but only covered vs UNC and that was iffy.

I'm going back and forth but may end up taking the pts.

Line definitely wreaks but I think last years bowl game is irrelevant. It might sway some casual bettors but bowl games are notoriously overvalued by result. One consideration could be that Vegas is sitting on some serious Clemson future $ (as they probably are with Bama) which could explain the line.

Either way, I'd be grabbing FG plus because it won't be there by 12/31

Good luck,
Pistol

I think a lot of great points made and like I said, one big thing is the line looks very iffy. I don't put a ton of stock into last year's bowl game....but the average bettor might....along with Clemson being "outright #1" last few weeks of season.

I think there is so much parity across the board and that's why things get really irritating with brand name teams.

It was like a done-deal that Oklahoma was in after their last game while other teams were trying to play their way in. Mich State lost to 5-7 Nebraska and that's ok....even with their bs win against Michigan. Meanwhile UNC's loss to South Carolina in week 1 is unforgivable. Notre Dame beating Boston College by only 3 also unforgivable.

Alabama loses to Miss and that's ok too b/c "of course" SEC is dominant. I mean, look at all those great QB's the league has to offer (yes, I'm quoting Cowherd lol....but he's right).

Its just parity out-the-ass which is great in a lot of ways....but not when some stupid committee is trying to justify 4 out of 120+ teams to make a "playoff".

I think both games will be great but lean to Oklahoma and Alabama....and like was said, will prob just wait and end up with Sooners at a pick or take moneyline b/c the game is a toss-up.

I have played the ml big for Clemson since it came out.

Watson will have a huge game on the ground and give OU fits. The defense does enough to slow them down and win by a TD.

Does how the ACC have done the last couple days affect how we feel about this Big 12/ACC matchup? U wanna talk about OU beating banged up teams...what did that banged up Baylor team do against an UNC team that "had something to prove" mean? Just a simple question, do these results mean anything?

Those games have very little relevance for me. Bowl season always throws out silly games like that where they decide to play optional 2 handed touch football instead of turning up.
