Omar Vizquel will take today off. John McDonald will play shortstop while Brandon Phillips starts at second base.
Looks like that the Tribe will use tonight's game to play most of their rookie position players, bringing the veterans back Sunday for C.C. Sabathia's start.

A DAY OF REST -- Omar Vizquel will take a rest today. Brandon Phillips will play second base, and John McDonald will play shortstop. The game tonight might feature most of the Indians' rookie position players, with the veterans coming back to play Sunday, when C.C. Sabathia starts.
STREAK CONTINUES -- Jim Thome homered in the first inning, making last night's game the 48th in a row in which he has reached base. It is the longest such streak in the AL this year and second longest in the big leagues to that of Ryan Klesko of the Padres, who reached in 56 consecutive games.
SNYDER ON LEAVE -- Earl Snyder left the team to attend his grandfather's funeral in Connecticut. He is expected to return in time for the game Sunday. It has been a tough year for Snyder, whose mother died during spring training.
