I am a dual citizen. Spain and the United States. I have a USA passport and EU passport from Spain. Most of my family lives in Spain. I have traveled all of Europe extensively with the exception of Norway, Sweden, Finland and a couple of eastern European countries. I have been to Spain over 25 times and most of my time in Europe outside of Spain has been spent in France, Italy, Germany, UK and Netherlands. In about 11 years, I will be spending July through October on the southern coast of Spain between Malaga and Marbella. There are things I like about Europe, just like there are things I like about South America, Mexico and Caribbean nations. I do not like the water conservation toilets, washing machines, or dishwashers even though I understand why those exist. I do not like social programs, the overregulation and high taxes(which pay for the social programs). I appreciate the slower pace of life. Not as much of a rat-race than here. Healthcare isn?t as bad as most conservatives would think, but surgery delays and specialist visits delays were common prior to covid.
Definitely pros and cons just like anywhere else, but I?m obviously good enough with the cons given that I plan on spending a third of my life there upon retirement.
