Former CNN host Michael Kinsley divulges that CNN was coaching guests to artificially enhance emotions during Katrina catastrophy!!

Kinsley writes:

"The TV news networks, which only a few months ago were suppressing emotional fireworks by their pundits, are now piously encouraging their news anchors to break out of the emotional straitjackets and express outrage. A Los Angeles Times colleague of mine, appearing on CNN last week to talk about Katrina, was told by a producer to 'get angry.'"

Unfair and unbalanced!! Hey CNN, maybe you should take a look at your ratings.

Ok you say they were encouraging guests to get angry..

But your quote says producers were asking news anchors to break out of the emotioanl straight jackets.

Which is it guests or anchors?

Secondly while do agree cnn sucks I did notice a female cnn anchor in a hotly contested debate with liberal senator Nancy Pelosi

Maybe they are not as biased as you think.

Certainly never see anyone on Fox disagree with any neocons

Sorry you are correct....i misread his statement.

...guests were not asked to stage their emotions....NEWS ANCHORS WERE!!! Even worse!!!

yeah Clem, they are as biased as I think. That's why they are losing viewers. As evidenced by the last 2 elections, most Americans are getting tired of the negative liberal anti-Bush bullshit. Fox News' dominant ratings are just one example. America is becomimg more and more conservative every day and CNN is desperate.

Coaching news anchors to get ANGRY??? :mj07:

Manson,

i will share with you a little secret of modern medicine

never argue with one who is experiencing delusional thinking

in doing so, you will prompt them to defend their delusion and in doing so will reinforce them in their own mind

the delusion then only becomes stronger as it is reinforced

rather, just ignore the irrational and the lack of attention will hopefully allow the irrational to move on past their psychosis

we need to be more sympathetic please

Amen!! Damn it's just so fun to see the democratic party self destruct. They are so out of touch with reality and it's so hard to resist some of the gems that I read in here. The more that John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, Dick Durbin and Nancy Pelosi open their mouths, the easier it will be to win future elections.

Note to liberals = PLEASE KEEP IT UP!!!

"Fox News in Ratings Free Fall

Here's something you won't hear on Fox News -- ratings for the cable news
channel have been plummeting since before the November election.

According to TV Newser, the number of people watching Fox during prime time
in the 25 to 54 age bracket dropped in April for the sixth straight month.

TV Newser cited a CNN press release which gave these totals for Fox's
primetime audience in the 25 to 54 age bracket: Oct. 04: 1,074,000; Nov. 04:
891,000; Dec. 04: 568,000; Jan. 05: 564,000; Feb. 05: 520,000; March 05:
498,000; April 05: 445,000. That amounts to a decline of 58 percent, with no
sign of leveling off.

Other cable stations' ratings were also down since the election, but CNN's,
for example, appeared to have stabilized last month while Fox's continued to
drop.

What the press release didn't say is that we can add 629,000 people to those
who don't watch Fox. That works out to just over 89,857 people for each of
the seven News Hounds who are watching Fox so those people don't have to.

Now that we've added another Hound, we should be able to take care of the
remaining 445,000 in even less than six months. "

Now, why don't you two Neocon's apologize like the big boys you are. Or you can be just like the shrub you worship and slip it under the rug.

Find those WMD's yet?

So Fox news has dropped from 1st place...to umm....1st place.

Yeah, sorry about that.

As for your comment on WMD's, since you brought it up and are so quick to blame Bush.....here are some of your friends who said Saddam had WMD's.....

"Without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime ... He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation ... And now he is miscalculating America's response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction ... So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real..."
- Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Jan. 23. 2003

"I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force -- if necessary -- to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security."
- Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002

"One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line."
- President Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998

"If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program."
- President Bill Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998

"We must stop Saddam from ever again jeopardizing the stability and security of his neighbors with weapons of mass destruction."
- Madeline Albright, Feb 1, 1998

"He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983."
- Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb, 18, 1998

"[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs."
Letter to President Clinton.
- (D) Senators Carl Levin, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, others, Oct. 9, 1998

"Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process."
- Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998

"Hussein has ... chosen to spend his money on building weapons of mass destruction and palaces for his cronies."
- Madeline Albright, Clinton Secretary of State, Nov. 10, 1999

"We begin with the common belief that Saddam Hussein is a tyrant and a threat to the peace and stability of the region. He has ignored the mandate of the United Nations and is building weapons of mass destruction and th! e means of delivering them."
- Sen. Carl Levin (D, MI), Sept. 19, 2002

"We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country."
- Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

"Iraq's search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power."
- Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

"We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction."
- Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002

"The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October of 1998. We are confident that Saddam Hussein retains some stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, and that he has since embarked on a crash course to build up his chemical and biological warfare capabilities. Intelligence reports indicate that he is seeking nuclear weapons..."
- Sen. Robert Byrd (D, WV), Oct. 3, 2002

"There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is working aggressively to develop nuclear weapons and will likely have nuclear weapons within the next five years ... We also should remember we have always underestimated the progress Saddam has made in development of weapons of mass destruction."
- Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D, WV), Oct 10, 2002

"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members ... It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons."
- Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002

"We are in possession of what I think to be compelling evidence that Saddam Hussein has, and has had for a number of years, a developing capacity for the production and storage of weapons of mass destruction."
- Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL), Dec. 8, 2002

Enjoy.

Fastest growing cable news show. Is Nancy Grace I think thats how you spell it. Don't watch it my self but thats what T V guide report had to say. Sounds like she just kicking butt with 25 to 55 year old woman. By the way note News Show. Thats what most of them are SHOWS. Not real news. Just B S like O'Reilly. It's a show like Larry King.

I've seen her show...she's kind of hot but I don't think she talks about the political grapevine. Her and Greta are kinda going head to head on missing persons and crime topics.

Like CBS News. It's News. Same for ABC, NBC. O Reilly like to say he has 2.5 million watching every night. Drop in the bucket to real news. CBS has close to 4.5 million every night. There Sunday night 60 minute show has close to 6 million. Even lowly ABC has close to 3 million for there nightly news. So ratings just like anything else can get jerked around.

Per chart-- if Fox is in free fall where does that put others--Geez can't believe Gibson on fox is pulling in as many viewers as Larry King--I can't even stand Gibson.

A little common sense logic--What is ultimate peak time for news networks--months just prior to election. What channel won't decline from that month of peak showing.Guess what month this "fair and balanced " outfit decided to compare--Oct and nov of 04--to months that followed---duh wonder why==Stevie --you need to read between the lines son.
P.S. you will generally also find viewing down of "24 to 54" crowd in summer months when people in that age bracket are outdoors--make sense.

P.P.P.s you will probably read in the following months from moveon.org or NYT that viewing of Fox TV in month of Sept in New Orleans was down almost 100%--;)

DTB,I wouldn't expect you to respond to what I said but as usual you twisted it to fit your agenda. Now look back. I said that Foxes ratings were dropping. I was called a liar and delusional by two Neocon's for that. Then you come in and say Fox is still number one! Well Dogs, I never said Fox wasn't still number 1. What I said was that their numbers are falling. And I stand by that statement.
Then, in your Neocon way, you bring up others who said Iraq had WMD. I wasn't aware that you admired those people so much. But I would ask you this. How many Americans did they send to their deaths looking for those WMD's?

Don't believe I was one who brought up others who said Iraq had wmds however while on that topic while I am no intelligence expert- but personally would used same logic they followed-- he had them-he used them-he would not allow inspectors to verify those that he had that were not accounted for in destruction ultimadum--hence he defied all resolutions and with the oil for food news it is easy to see why--he had too many in his pocket to believe anyone would allow use of force--he under estimated GW as did the terrorist world wide--He did not need "permission" nor did he look the other way as those that preceded him.
If you look back through his final ultimadum to Saddam--all he had to was comply with resolutions mandated by U.N. to avert war--while the war was predicated on resolutions not necessarilty wmds consider this--as the Kurds found out he did have them and had way to deliver them and they were effective. Considering Saddams hate for the U.S. are you trying to make us think that there was no chance he would pass along this knowledge to terrorist to use against us--like Dean-- Kennedy and other liberals would have you believe--then after we get popped howl and whine how our gov wasn't protecting us.

--and to answer your question you damn well straight I think every life lost in Afgan and Iraq was worth it--and you will find same answer from most who served there--in addition to not having to worry about Saddam passing these on to terrorist--he also isn't paying bounties to suicide bombers--not killing and torturing the 80% population of Iraq--and no chance "HE" will use these weapons again.Had we not taken him out the preceding would not only still remained a distinct possibilty but in most cases a probabilty.

For some reason liberals fail to understand we are at war with terrorist and the extreme dangers they pose on our home soil.

Consider this for a moment Stevie--how hard would it have been for a lone terrorst to take out levee at N.O. and create many more deaths considering no alert or warning as we got from hurricane.
You better get on your knees and thank this adin for trying to do something before the fact--we found what looking the other way at 1st attempt on trades/embassies/Cole ect got us.

A soldier would be the last guy I would go to if I wanted to find out about the war he is fighting. If we left it up to them we would still be fighting Vietnam. You should get on your knees and thank God for the protestors who stopped that war and saved an unknown number of American lives.
Katrina has proved that this admin has made our defense weaker while fighting that no need war in Iraq and breeding more terrorists.

Stevie, man, you are so sick. Please, consult a professional. I'm serious, you're inner rage and self deception is hurting you. It's for your good, man. And while you're at it, try and put both feet on th ground.

Also, neo-con is not necessarily a slant. But commie is.

Does anybody else see this dilusion view so clearly?
Are all socialists really so inept at argument and fundamental basics? Even when the try.

LORD, help them becasuse they cannot help themselves.

P.S. - I'm really not joking or taking easy punches. I'm concerned.
