Figure there isn't a reason to start a new thread each day, especially with as few plays as I intend. Will put any for the next week or so in here.

YTD Record 0-1 for -0.55 units

For Wednesday 11/9:

Lehigh/StJohn's Under 149.5 for 1 unit - Johnnies on short rest and Lehigh's first game, expect to see some sluggish droughts tomorrow night.

What's the local vibe out of Chicago for UIC and Loyola going into this season. I know that UIC is reloading and will be pretty decent next year but how about this season.

Reason I'm asking is that it seems very difficult to pass on them catching points from E Mich who seems to be in the very same boat.

It looks bleak for both Chicago Horizon teams this season. Loyola lacks talent even on a Horizon-level. Blue Ribbon noted it best that potentially the two best players on their roster won?t be playing as Cully Payne and Devin Hill are sitting out this year after transferring from Iowa and DePaul. They only have 1 starter returning in Averkamp, who is good but can?t do it all by himself. Their guards are inexperienced and they don?t have a true center which will hurt them when they play a team like Illinois w/ a 7-footer.

UIC is harder to gauge. They have the potential to be a middle of the road horizon team, but that isn?t guaranteed. They have a couple of guys that should have contributed last year that sat out with injuries and have a new juco point guard. If their main contributors gel right away, they can realize some of that potential and finish towards the middle of the pack which would be a good season for them in my mind.

adding:

UNC -8.5 for 1/2 unit - line has been bet down but I think Tar Heels will pull away in the second half.

Really expected people to bet up the Over on this one but not happening it appears.

Crisman for Loyola is from our local high school. Nice player but never thought he'd be starting and playing 36 minutes in a game against the Illini.

If that's the case the Ramblers will struggle to score this year just as you pointed out.

Nice calls last night

for Saturday:

Butler -3 for 1/2 unit - Quite a bit going against Butler today. Lost big contributors from last years? team, playing on the road with 3 new starters and several other young guys that will be counted on off the bench, and playing against a team that beat them last year and knows how to play them close. However, I think this year people will see even more what Stevens has instilled and the true ?Butler way?. No they won?t be as successful as the past 2 years, but this season will show how Stevens has built a true program, with guys that can step in and run the offense pretty well in their own right. All the other intangibles such as defense and minimal turnovers will be there too. Should be a close back and forth game, but I like Butler to pull it out by a handful.

YTD Record: 2-3 for -0.70 units

lost last time out as Butler was well in control for 30 or so minutes of the game and ended up falling in OT.

For Monday:

USC Pick for 1/2 unit

may be back w/ a play or two tomorrow when I see totals and 1H lines.

adding:

K-State -14.5 for 1/2 unit - this one has been bet down enough to my liking. Wildcats are down this yeat but as previously noted, Loyola can't hang with big boys with their lineup.
