How big is the loss of Melvin for DePaul? I know he's out for the season and it appears they were missing something when they lost by 48 points against Syracuse. Trying to figure out if DePaul has quit? 14.5 or 15 points is a lot for a UConn team that played terrible late in the year to cover.

I should just pass the game, but it's the only early game so the degenerate in me will force a play.

After really digging into this game, I'm backing UConn -14 (-120) for a decent size play. Melvin being out really does hurt DePaul and the fact this team doesn't play any defense makes a final score of 80-60 seem logical. Good luck to us~!:toast:

DD - he does hurt despite just being a frosh. The best players on the Blue Demons team are the young guys.

DePaul definitely has quit despite a couple gritty battles a couple weeks back vs. Nova and Ville. Oliver Purnell has over-recruited and at least 2 guys from the current squad will not have schollies renewed and the team is aware he is out recruiting look for at least 2 more. That has resulted in a lot of 'me play' with guys being selfish trying to show they are worthy of a second shot under Purnell. It has lead to 12 double-digit conference losses and 6 of those by 20 or more points. Add in the fact that UConn had a horrid showing at the Big East tourney last year, and I think they will be focussed to put this one to bed early.

I AGREE MR POON. THE ONLY APPREHENSION IS PLAYING FIRST DAY--- WILL CALHOUN PULL PEOPLE AND REST THEM IF THEY ARE UP BY 20 WITH 5-7 MINUTES TO GO. THAT OPENS THE BACK DOOR. THAT SAID... I STILL LIKE CONN.

THEY MAY PLAY HARD... ACCEPT A WIN OR 2 AND TRY TO PREPARE FOR WHEREVER THEY ARE HEADED FOR THE TOURNEY.

I'm not saying bet against de paul but they looked awful in syracuse.... didn't think they gave up but they looked scared... think they have won < 5 gms the L50 BE gms..... the books will need them today... this is the kind of gm that bites you in the ass... it's dp or pass... conn may do just enough to move on & save it for tomorrow..chalk like this, you can steel one here and there...over all doesn't pay to play them.. i'd say it's about a 45% cover...

4-0 on the day, got lucky with the OT on the Rut/Hall Over but I'll take it.
