So I woke up this morning and see in the newspaper that college football has started. Not sure how that snuck up on me. Some plays for opening weekend:
Boise/VaTech Under 50 for 2 units ? everyone knows Boise has a good rush D. Think it will be in full force even against two good Hokie RB?s.
Kentucky/Ville Under 49 for 1 unit ? given Ville?s lack of talent on D, this is definite a risky play but I?m still going for it. Strong?s familiarity with Kentucky and Joker Phillips is going to help quite a bit. Also Ville?s strength on Offense should be their running game. I foresee a Herm Edwards type contest with the Cards trying to control the TOP battle with their running game and grind out a W in Strong?s debut.
Clemson/N. Texas Under 56 for 2 units ? Clemson?s D is being talked up a ton and I am a believer they can be a real force this year. Think it will start in the opener against an average Mean Green squad.
BYU -1.5 for 1 unit ? I believe Washington is going to have some issues stopping the run again this year. Unga isn?t there for BYU anymore but believe his replacement Di Luigi is more than capable with the line there to do some damage against the Huskies.
SMU +14.5 for 1 unit ? believe Tubberville gets a scare in his debut w/ Tech.
Fresno/Cincy Over 58 for 1 unit ? Fresno lost Matthews, but their entire o-line that paved the way for him is back. Each team?s strength on offense is matched against the other team?s weakness on D. Think the scoreboard will get a workout.
