First day of the new season, starting off with these two:

Vandy -170 (@ San Diego) for 2 units - #4 Vanderbilt returns quite a bit from a team that was very close to the College World Series last year. Particularly their ace pitcher, all-american Sonny Gray who will take the mound for them today. USD has to replace a ton of players (5 position players and all 3 weekend starters) however won?t be a bad squad by season-end due to some good recruiting. It will just take a bit for those new guys to gl and be a formidable group. Commodores were not good on the road early in the season last year, but I think they are enough experience and have high expectations this season to start out on the right note.

Fullerton -125 (@ Long Beach) for 2 units - #8 Fullerton goes on the road to conference rival, in a non-conference game to start the season. Both squads have to replace 5 position players, however Fullerton has better talent they are plugging into those new spots. Jr. Noe Ramirez goes for the Titans on the mound and is a very electric pitcher. My play would be bigger if it wasn?t for Long Beach?s starter tonight Andrew Gagnun. He will likely be the team?s lone bright spot this season. He just doesn?t have much support around him in the pen or in the bats to stake him a lead.

Nice start to what will no doubt be another profitable campaign. Glad to have college bases back. I'm taking my boys to the Saturday game when Fullerton comes to town in a couple of weeks.

Keep it rolling:toast:

thanks for the words Cie. LSU had a great recruiting class lead by pitcher Kevin Gausman. Will tough to be a great year for the Tigers with their high standards, but they have some young talent that should start the blocks for a promising 2012.

starting off with:

Vandy -175 (@ SD State) for 3 units - there is an obvious drop-off in pitching for the Commodores after Sonny Gray but the guys behind him still have some talent. SD State big issue this year is pitching as seen by the 14 runs given up yesterday to Winthrop. Vandy has the bats and a fresh bullpen (their game only went 5 innings yesterday) to take care of this one.

looking into the other games now.

adding:

Stanford +100 (@ Rice) for 1 unit - both squads have some good offense and defense. Rice has some big question marks on their pitching staff for a second straight year. That is where Stanford has the advantage and worth a small shot. Starters haven't been announced by I expect Brett Mooneyham to go for Stanford. He ended last year as their Friday night starter. When he faced Rice last year he had an average outing giving up 3 in 5 1/3. Not bad to contain them to that # considering he had 9 BB's. Control was an issue with him all of last year, but he is talented enough to get out of jams.

Hey Bud, you use 5Dimes?

yeah when they have the lines up. Them, Greek, and betus are the places for lines early in the year. However, they aren't alll consistent due to their attention other places and not that many games with lines. Yesterday greek and 5dimes had them. Today it was only betus, though the Greek listed them on the 'events we plan to carry' but never actually posted the lines.

for today:

Fresno -135 (vs. Oregon St.) for 2 units - Fresno has some powerful bats and the better pitching staff. Add in that they have only played 2 games with Beavers playing 3 thus far, and they will have a better pitcher on the mound.

tempted by Fullerton but going to stay away

the greek added the contest out on the islands:

Oregon -140 (@ Hawaii) for 1 unit - like the Ducks to come away with the split in the series. Not a bad price considering their advantages at the plate and on the mound.
