College Ball Week #3

YTD Record: 7-4 for +2.3 units


Florida -110 (vs. Miami) for 2 units - yes the Gators are on a slide and probably still shouldn't be ranked, but this is a great price to get Jonathon Crawford for at home.

UNC -135 (@ Rice) for 1 unit - the marquee matchup of the day with a big starting pitcher duel of Emanuel (UNC) going against Kubitza (Rice). Tough to go against either of these pitchers but UNC is the better team and this is a great price for them against anyone in the country.

Oregon +165 (@ Fullerton) for 1 unit - Titans have been hot to start the year and Oregon's Friday starter Jake Reed hasn't been stellar this season thus far, but I think he can bounce back. This is a good dog price for a pretty sound Ducks squad, pluse Horton has had Fullerton's # the couple times he's faced his former team.

The St Rita kid Mark Payton is batting 4th this yr at Texas...batting .538 to start the year. They play Stanford this week end.

The local Highland Indiana kid at Pudue, Jordan Minch had a very rough first start. Second start at #10 Miss St he threw 6 innings of 2 hit ball.

rrc - kid from Marian is starting for ASU and beat Arkansas last night. His name is Lilek and I think he's going to be real good for the Sun Devils.

Listen to a bit of Texas series last weekend as they swept my Huskers. Payton is doing well as you stated.

UIC got a win the first weekend against Texas A&M and they are at highly ranked Vandy this week. They get Purdue at home next weekend. Would like to try to get over there to watch a game, maybe Friday afternoon but not sure yet.

0-2 last time out. For today:

Mercer +200 (@ GaTech) for 1/2 unit - Mercer is a decent squad out of the Atlantic Sun with almost all of their position players returning from a good offensive team last year. They split their 2 games against the Yellow Jackets last year so they won't be intimidated. Also the GaTech starter has been less than stellar in his two midweek games so far this year giving up 7 ER in 6.2 IP over the two games.

sorry eeerock, just now seeing this. Check out d1baseball.com, they have a daily scoreboard link as well as links to the gamecasts for each game. Many games will have video feeds that you can watch via the same link as well.

Mercer was hanging tough for awhile leading through the middle innings and then blew up late losing 16-9 in a shoot out.
