YTD Record: 19-24 for -3.12 Units
For Thursday:
Florida -2.5 +100 (vs. LSU) for 1 unit ? Brian Johnson slides into the leadoff starting pitcher spot for the Gators. Hudson Randall was not crisp last week and looks like they are giving him a couple extra days rest as he will pitch on Saturday. Johnson had a very bad outing vs. Miami a month ago but has put some strong outings since including the last 2 weeks vs. solid teams in S. Carolina and Ole Miss. As Cie noted previously, LSU is going with Sophmore Kurt McCune who hasn?t been as good as he was last year. He isn?t the power pitcher Gausman or even Eades are, who I think stand a far better shot against this potent Gator lineup. Also his control hasn?t been good this year as he has had 10 walks in just 22.2 innings. Big run line but the #1 Gators are more than capable in this spot.
UCLA -2.5 +120 (vs. Oregon) for 1 unit ? another big run line but similar to the play above. Road team coming off of an emotional home sweep the weekend before, but will be facing a far superior team this weekend. Oregon actually has a fair shot to win this series, but it?s because their #2 and #3 starting pitchers don?t really drop off after their #1 like UCLA?s does. UCLA is going with Adam Plutko who has done a great job in the #1 role. He had a bad outing vs. Baylor early
