College Ball Week #9

YTD Record: 40-55 for -26.25 units

Another losing week this past one. Not that I would expect anything different at this point. For today:


Pitt -6.5 for 3 units - good spot for the Panthers to rebound from that 2nd half collapse against Cincy.

Ohio St. -4 for 3 units - some of the Illini's weaknesses regarding D and rebounding showed against Purdue and will be further exposed today.

DePaul +7.5 for 2 units - not many teams that DePaul can matchup well with, but Providence is one. May add more to this later, a couple of DePaul's regulars have been a little banged up and trying to determine how close they are to full strength.

G'Town +3.5 for 1/2 unit
St. John's +13.5 for 1/2 unit

3-2 last time out but missed both 3 unit plays. For Monday:

ND/Cincy Under 134.5 for 1 unit - really tempted to play the Domers plus the points, but this will be their first true road game. Instead will go for the under as Cincy has had some inconsistent O and both teams play decent D, pretty good D in Cincy's case.

UConn -9 for 3 units
Ohio St. -7 for 1 unit

Loyola +2 for 1 unit
Valpo -2.5 for 1 unit
Minny Pick for 1 unit
St. John's -3.5 for 1 unit

FYI Akron will be without starting swingman, Gilliam, for 2-3 weeks. just had a quick scope of a nagging meniscus tear. May or may not be on the injury reports. Not a huge loss in itself but this makes a freshman a big part of the rotation.

3-0 on the night thanks to a hearty comeback by Sparty, and it caps off the first positive week in sometime. Went 12-4 on the week.
