Hawaii v. Rice is a game of polar opposites as UH (not the one that got beat on opening week) is a wide-open pass attack with the Run-n-Shoot and Rice is a true triple-option O out of the Flexbone.

Hawaii D is usu. vulnerable v. the ground game. While they will adjust to the Owls' option attack, LB's remain a weak point. DL had some prob. at the point of attack v. FAU but there is some talent, just not much expr.

Rice O struggled v. soft Houston D and the inj. situation isn't any better for this upcoming Sat. nite. The biggest loss wiill be WR Battle, who has given the Warriors nothing but trouble in their past two meetings. QB Henderson is the only playmaker of concern and he should garner success running the mid-line option. The Owls will have to put up the points to win.

Warriors looked okay in the FAU game but failed to show much of a ground game. RB Keliikipi, a bruiser, should play in this game and is a welcome contrast to the starter Brewster, who while strong for his size is more of a scatbacmc UH kept misfiring on the long ball, not Chang's strength, but if they take what the Owls will give them, the short game, they should move the ball and score. WR Rivers is the only gamebreaker for this potentially potent O.

Owls played well v. a Houston team that others now have a full year's worth of video to prepare against and who also has issues at WR and OL and will take time to return to being an O juggernaut, if at all this season. Smallish but quick Rice D is a good matchup for Hawaii but they're aren't going to contain the R&S. The key is to keep QB chang from getting into a rhythm.

Hawaii gets a solid win in cavernous Rice Stadium.
