Almost that time boys!!

Last year - 134-104 - +10.6 units or +$1060

That was posted plays until late November, had a great bowl season, but didn't post. Will give my thoughts on each conference in the next couple days, and please - if you know about these conferences, feel free to jump in.

SUN BELT

This is always the toughest conference to cap IMO. My thoughts on this conference are and have always been -

1 - Look hard at when they are big dogs against major conference teams, ie - ULM at Arky last year

2 - Don't bet in conference games

3 - Troy will always win the conference because of defense

I like Monroe to surprise some teams in that conference this year. I think if you give West. Kentucky a couple years, they will be right up there with Troy, and other than that, I have no idea!

Couple upsets or strong covers to watch
Troy at Arkansas on Nov. 14th
Arky St. at L'Ville on Halloween - could be :scared

Good to see ya back here Skip. Keep us posted on the Vols...with all the stuff that's been going on related to the coaching change and all...I can't wait to see them and the Bruins play. Who knows, if the Vols could find some offense they could have just as good a shot as any to win the conference.

Will be interesting. I think Kiffin is a douche, so even though I am a Vol fan, I am not drinking the kool-aid like everyone else seems to be.

He is bringing in lots o talent, but who the hell knows. I wouldn't be surprised if he puts a good team together and I also wouldn't be surprised if they are not on the death penalty in two years due to recruiting violations.:142smilie

Just don't remember many great coaches out there that told you how good they were before they showed how good they are?

Maybe I am old fashioned:shrug:

Thanks guys!

Corley - talk to me about your boys. I have them winning their opener and am searching for another, am I way off?

Ga Tech, Houston, and at MTSU are non-conference and cannot see them going better than 1-2?

What is the feeling on Mullen?

Screw the conference look ahead, doesn't really matter and want to focus on week one!

Opening night - Thursday Sept. 3rd
Leans only
Boise -5- and under 61-

I know these teams went for 69 LY, but both lost some major talent on the offensive side of the ball. Now, they also lost some defensive talent, but for both teams to put up 30+ this early in the season is asking a great deal. In the first eight games of last season, Boise games only hit the 60+ mark once, it so happened to be against the Ducks and me thinks that is why the total is where it is. The side seems to be obvious, but Boise on the smurf turf opening night against a depleted Duck squad looks inviting. If I hit this one, it will be small on both the side and total.

Troy ov 58-
Troy is historically solid defensively, but both teams return 7 on offense and only a combined 8 defensively (Troy 5, BGR 3). They both return the starting QBs from last year and were hitting on all cylinders offensively at the end of the year. Bowling Green averaged 36 ppg in the last 4 games, and Troy averaged 35 ppg in their last 4 including 27 in the bowl game. I could see this one going WAYYYYYYYY over, but as always, will probably hit it small since it is early in the season.

So Carolina un 44-
Lean to the dog here as well, but like the under more. NC St. gave up a shat load of points last year and 34 were to SC in the opener. The public sees the name Spurrier and thinks points, points, points, but I see unders a plenty esp. early in the season with this team. In the first four games in each of the last two years, South Carolina's totals have not gone over 44-. Both teams return 3 of 4 on the DL and a couple in each secondary makes me thinks this one will be a grind it out type of game. I think the first team to 20 wins this one.

Have no clue on Utah-Utah St.?
Lean to over in NT/Ball St. but would think that the entire betting public will be on that as well

Here's the deal with MSU:

Last year ended up 4-8... 3 total points away from being in a bowl... Now lets insert a good offensive minded coach... so the offense will be better than last year, I mean could it possibly be any worse, haha. State is very deep at RB. The defense will be the same anchored by very good LB's. The special teams will be alot better too since we actually have a kicker now who has a good leg and is accurate. So the offense will be better, the defense will still be stingy, and the special teams will be better. It really all comes down to how big of an impact our freshmen WR's have for us. State will be around 4-8 again this year, but has an outside shot at a bowl IMO. Don't sleep on MSU this year. They will stun someone. They are better than people think they are, but I think they are a year away from being good.

Didn't see the Mullen question...

Mullen has everyone excited and has the support of the Bulldog Nation. Everyone has faith in him and knows he will do a good job and get us back in bowl games... Everyone understands it will take some time before Mullen can get us some W's. Patience is the key. Someone will sleep on us this year and they will pay. This isnt the same MSU team that has no offense and relies heavily on the D.
