Division I-AA

Division I-AA

Albany -2 over Monmouth: Monmouth can make a case for an at-large playoff bid with a win but I don't see them getting a win on the road. These two teams are amazingly close statistically but Albany gets the edge defensively.

Morehead St. -4.5 over Austin Peay: Austin Peay is rotten, Morehead St. is just not real good. Actually Morehead St. has been very competitive against some of the better Pioneer Conference teams. Meanwhile AP has struggled against the likes of Missouri-Rolla, North Greenville and Cumberland. This line should be around 12, lay the 4.5.

Hampton -6.5 over Florida A&M: Hampton should wrap up the MEAC title and automatic bid with a win in Florida. Their running game and defense will be too much for the Rattlers. Aside from the stunning loss to South Carolina St. a few weeks ago, Hampton has dominated the opposition. Look for that to continue in this game.

MTSU -3 (-115) over Arkansas St.: Arkansas St. still has a shot at the Sun Belt title but with MTSU, Troy and ULL remaining it will be tough. I think the 29-0 loss to FAU really set them back. Also, Auburn beat them up last week. MTSU is playing great right now. Their offense is rolling and their defense is solid. You might want to wait on this one since the line seems to be coming down. 3.5's are at a lot of places and several have 3 at -115 or -120.

ULM/FIU under 45: These two teams are a combined 1-15. Both have been beat up recently in games (FIU in the literal sense) but now have a chance to win one. This should make the coaches a little more conservative and keep this one under the number. FIU has only gone over this number twice. One time was the 7 OT game against N. Texas (that game only got to 47) and the other was against BGSU, the team that lost to Temple (there, I wrote it, my therapist said I would feel better if I did). I think we will see a 21-17 type of game.
