Indiana +6 over Minnesota: Hoosiers are turning into a pretty good team. They have won 3 out of 4 and have a shot at going 7-5, including 5-3 in the league. They still haven't shown they are able to play with the big boys yet (Ohio St. and Wisky outscored them 96-20) but Minnesota is not in that category. Kellen Lewis has really sparked the offense for IU and that will have to continue since their defense is not real strong. Minnesota seems to be headed in the other direction, losing 5 of 6 with the only win in that stretch against North Dakota St. At 0-5 in the conference I don't see the Gophers putting up much of a fight. I'll take the 6 points but a moneyline play is a good play, too.

Purdue +2 over Sparty: Sparty has lost 5 of 6, given up at least 31 in 5 of the last 6, trailed at halftime by 17 or more in their last 4 games and finally fired their coach (suprise!). I don't see Sparty rallying around John L. because they have quit. Purdon't has struggled a bit offensively the last two weeks but they went against two pretty good defenses. This one should be a high-scoring affair with the Boilermakers giving a little more effort since they still can get a decent bowl bid with a strong finish.

Ohio -6.5 over EMU: Betting the MAC is like playing Russian Roulette this year. But, being stupid, I will continue to post MAC plays. Being even more stupid, I will post a road chalk selection. EMU has played well lately but the Bobcats defense is one of the tougher ones they will face. Bobcats should be able to grind out a ten point win if they stick with their strong running game. Ohio is tied with Kent for the East lead and holds the tie-breaker over them. Unbelievably, BG (you know, the one that lost to Temple) is only a game back and beat Ohio. This leads me to believe there will be no letdown for Ohio after last week's big win.

Michigan -7 (-125) 1st Qtr. over Ball St.: This is actually like betting over 7 for the first quarter since it is unlikely Ball St. will score against Michigan's 1st team defense. I think Michigan will throw it deep a couple times early and get some big plays against the overmatched Testicle Tech defense. Over 10.5 is available but I think Michigan -7 serves the same purpose and only costs 20 cents more.
