Texas Tech -14 2 units

I should have posted this a few weeks back when the line was a couple of points better but I think this will still be a safe play.

From what I've heard the locker room is about as tight of a group as there's been at Tech in a long time. I'm not a fan of Taylor Potts but he's had a great off season and is appartently looking very comfortable in the new offense. I think the additional running plays will help especially with the explosive backs Tech has. They are loaded at receiver. The offensive line is young and doesn't have a lot of starts but the D for SMU shouldn't present much of a problem for them.

SMU had a great offense last year and it should do well again this year but I think they will struggle to find their go to receiver in the first couple of games. I think the QB for SMU is going to get his a lot in this game and it should pay benefits for Tech in the 2nd half.

I think both teams will score but with the crowd noise and a few turnovers I look for Tech to win by 20-25 points. Lubbock is a difficult place to play and the fans and players are going to be pumped to get the new era of Tech football off to a good start. Tubbs is going to play a lot of the second string guys and IMO this should help reduce the chances of a backdoor cover. Everyone know they have a chance to play if they show well.
