Made the switch from a different forum; have really enjoyed reading everyone's write-ups. Love the details so many put into their picks -- anyone can make selections -- it's the rationale I want to see. Thanks guys and gals! Now let's get this party started:

Miami -13 Wish I could say upset for my 'Noles' but UM whipped us by more last year in Tally and this year FSU has no pass defense and may play rotating QB's. In Miami right now about to shut off the laptop and walk to the OB; Nole fans don't look too confident. Lots of bad memories here. Canes front 7 may be the best in the nation and they can shut down Jones. Canes pull away by 18.

UAB - 3 UAB very tough at home beating Troy St., upsetting Memphis 31-17, and almost taking Pitt. Houston playing 3rd road game in a row. UAB by 10.

Hawaii - 9 1/2 I always play the home team in "Aloha Means Goodbyeville". I think it has something to do with all the Mai Tais they put in the visiting teams Gatorade jugs. It's a bad thing when the UNevada Gatorade cups have tiny umbrellas in them. Chang and Co. just too much offense for them at home -- revenge factor also present. Hawaii by 17.

Hawaii >63 This will be an absolute shootout. Rushing? What's that? Warriors average almost 40 pts a game; Chang puts up over 450 yds, in total offense; these teams are 5th and 6th in the nation in passing offense. Love my chances with the over as the clock will seem like 90 minutes instead of 60 with all the stoppages for incomplete passes, first downs, and receivers going out of bounds. Passing = points.

Tex/Okies Over 43 Don't let the Okla St. game fool ya. Texas was looking ahead to this one. Sims can put up points and the Sooners can too. Both defenses and special teams capable of big plays -- give me the OVER in this one. 43 seems much too low for these powers.

Iowa -4 Very impressed with Iowa this year; only loss was a difficult one to a very good Iowa St. team. Bad calls or not, they handled themselves well after the Penn St. comeback. The Spartans, on the other hand, are overrated and struggle every week before waking up in the 4th quarter. This road game will be too tough for them.

NC State -6 Rivalry game in the ACC. Chuck Amato is the real reason FSU had an incredible defense all those years -- ask Derrick Brooks. Great coach; no one knows how good NC State is; this game puts them at 7-0. Pack by 12.

Thanks for the Write-ups

Thanks for the Write-ups

I don't believe Nevada will have umbrellas in their drinks, 'cuz Dick Tomey is a former UH head coach. He knows the deal and will have his team prepared. Not going against your pick, just staying away personally.
Good Luck

ASU-OSU Over

ASU-OSU Over

Adding: Over 62

Last year Az. State - Or. State hit 65. This year both teams are just as explosive. I see another high scoring game in the Derek Anderson - Andrew Walter Shootout Classic.
