Comments on Barkley/Kobe deal

"I criticized Kobe in Game 7. He didn't like it and he let me know it," Barkley said. "I think I probably made one mistake by taking it public, but I wanted to get his side and his point of view. I have no problem with him disagreeing with me."


What do you guys think of Barkley backpedalling here? He critiques everyone good and bad and now that Kobe's feelings are hurt he's saying he shouldn't have? And that's after he emphatically said, "I will always tell it like it is, regardless." Is it b/c Kobe is a superstar Sir is waffling? Seems a lil hypocritcal to me ... Curious to see what you guys think.

I love Barkley but he's looking kinda bad here IMO ... Always was my fave player and really like him in the studio. And I'll be shocked if Stephen A. ever calls him out on this playing both sides of the wall M.O.

Barkley is the man. He speaks the truth and I don't think he said anything wrong. Doesn't sound like he's taking anything back. He's just clarifying that he's not out to hurt anyone....and he is not afraid to have his opinions challenged.

i dont think he is backpedalling. What he is doing is saying "yea i ripped on kobe, but if he is gonna disagree he can". Basically he didnt say he was wrong, but everyone isnt gonna like or agree.

dont think he is backpedalling at all. he said he was selfish and said it again last night. he speaks what he feels and never changes his mind.
he also wasn't telling a lie when he said he bets 20k a bj hand or a roulette sping either. have a buddy that deals to him at the Mirage and he told me last year that he played 20k a spin on roulette.
