Usually I can solve these problems but this one has me stumped. When I try to open up 2 or more browsers at the same time I am getting an error which says this.

EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in
module MSVBVM60.DLL at 015f:660ee981.

I can go into windows/system and remove the msvbvm60.dll file and open as many browsers as I want after file is deleted. Browse the web problem free and my system operates fine.
Only problem is that some programs require this file to run.

I have tried to reinstall a new MSVBVM60.dll file and that does not work. Tried repairing I.E. 6.0 no help. Tried to do a reinstall of windows over what is is on my system without formatting no help. Also when I have the .dll file installed and I open more than one window I get the error message and also some advertising will pop up. With .dll file removed these ads do not appear. I think I have a spyware probelm but cannot find it. Have ran a virus scan and found no viruses. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Repairing Internet Explorer should fix the problem. Go to Start - Run - type: msinfo32
in the open box - click OK -- From Tools the menu - choose IE Repair Tool -- Repair
IE.

Note: If you get an error message saying it cannot be repaired, redownload and install
then run the repair.

In addition, run scan disk to correct errors on the drive.

stomie, i don't see IE Repair Tool in the Tools menu, what OS are you using?

nevertease, go to your add/remove programs and remove any internet browser and run your windows update thereafter.

EDIT: didn't see stomie's response. :)

thx hwnhrt someone solved it for me with the forum you listed.

Solution

Open Internet Explorer/Tools/Internet Options under the Advanced tab under "Browsing" uncheck "enable third party browser extensions (requires restart)" and restart your computer. This may eliminate the error messages.

Thx all!
