[Senor Capper]

After I scanned disk, defragged, removed Spy & adware I can't open websites on my 2nd comp.

However I can still play online games vs other comps.

Connection & signal strength is great.

I'm sure it's an easy fix but still I'm clueless.

Any help

You can't open the browser itself, or you can't get it to connect to any sites???

What online games??? Like UT2k4 or Doom3??? Why do you need a browser???
It might not be as simple as you think. Do you have a firewall???




Did you try a reloading of your browser???

it opens but doesn't connect.

Various games that you can chat back & forth on (kids comp & games)

guess you wouldn't need a browser but still have to be online.

Firewall is turned off.

What you mean by "reloading" browser? I tried to repair and even went to previous version of browser still no go.

I'm on a wireless network & this comp is NOT the base.

Just try to reboot everything when you turn on you computer. there is a screen that gives you two options one you hit F10 for the other F8, I cant remember what one you will need to hit. The screen only stays up for like 3 seconds also. It takes like a half hour but it installs all of your settings back to the way your computer was when you bought it withough losing any information. I just recently had the same problem. Also you should install ad-aware it is free and very effective.

Worse comes to worse do you think that reformatting the hardrive will fix my problem?

I installed all original software & such w/o formatting but it didn't help my problem

OK f8 or f10 didn't work.

I see now that it may be my proxy settings??

After booting up the comp my wireless icon comes up green then turns red stating I'm not connected to the internet.

Just gotta figure out my settings. I guess.

Now I'm getting somewhere. I think. :thinking:
