Just a heads up for what it is worth...

I have had serious computer slow downs for the past month.....enuff where I was thinking of throwing the computer out the second story window and laughing maniacally as it shattered on the driveway..

Probably picked up from a MOJO babe site.

Norton Symantec kept telling me everything was fine, no threats or viruses and my computer was well.

I know next to squat about computers but knew this was BS.

Had a computer egghead friend over and he was shocked how infected my system was..

6 hours and a pizza and beer party later..He shitcanned Norton and installed Crap Cleaner (which I use daily now) AVG freeware (much better than Norton) Software repair freeware,
REvo Uninstaller freeware among others. CONT'D

Refund number

Refund number

He switched me to MOZILLA instead of Internet explorer (pop-up city)

Gutted microsoft BS programs and installed OpenOffice.org freeware much superior to Microsoft...

Long story short...I called Norton at 1-800-745-6055 and demanded a full refund....the young man in New Delhi was very pleasant and I could understand him as well as my redneck Brother in law on a sober day.

He cheerfully refunded full year and mentioned compatibility issues with software, blah blah....

It sounds like to me with Windows 7 coming out, and all the service patches on updates, Microsift has ongoing issues they are a step behind on.

Agree with everything else you said, except this part. Open Office is a total piece of horse shit compared to MS Office products.

Norton is a bigger drain on a computer than most viruses on the market right now.

I would also highly recommend Google Chrome's browser over Mozilla Firefox.

Glad you got your problems straight. A slow computer is one of the most frustrating things these days.
