Scary play especially in the BE opener....BUT...
I think CT can win this by double digits.
1. They will OWN the boards...Georgetown barely outrebounded their cupcakes; lost the boards to Memphis 36-53 and to Tennessee by 7. CT is +10 v opp and will get plenty of offensive boards.
2. CT is better than last year and the Hoyas are not. Hoyas needed a 3 prayer from Hibbard at the games end at HOME for the W. No such divine intervention tonight....AND we're in Hartford.
3. This is the Hoyas 1st true Road game of the year and fundamental benefits such as superior Assist/turnover ratio...shot blocking, point differential from the free throw line and the general experience factors favor CT
4.Recent history Hoyas are 3-7ATS in last 10 v CT
0-5 su otr
5. Should be a packed house for the BE opener and CT understands that DEFENSE will win this one. If CT can hold Georgetown to fewer than say 7 3s they should dominate the paint and cover.
6. CT draws a LOT of fouls and will get to the line frequently....conversly they do not generally get into foul trouble and are outscoring the opp. by 13 from the stripe.
Caveat: Ya never know what you will get from CT.
Backcourt dominated vs Gonzaga ..front absent. Frontcourt dominated v Fairfield.. backcourt play was poor ??? If they ever get together watch out!
SMALL PLAY..CT
