So, Sharpie is rolling out commercials 4 weeks later with the coach taking the Sharpies away from his guys.
They have the camera right on Owens during the whole Sharpie thing. They don't even fine him for it. It's becomes a big incident and a big joke, replayed a thousand times.
Even that night, Michael's wasn't saying "he pulled a marker out of his pocket." He's saying, "he pulled a Sharpie out of his pocket." And Owens signed a football for his AGENT or something??? Who does that? Give me a break. At least it should have been some little kid with some disease. I bet they had some other plant sitting in the other endzone in case he scored down there.
Do we have an unholy Sharpie/MNF/NFL triumverate here?
To anyone who knows, what's the turnaround time on getting commercials out? That was week 6, so they had 4 weeks to put together that spot, get a deal done with MNF and get it on the air. Can that be done in 4 weeks?
Yes, maybe Owens did it on his own, and Sharpie got the commercials out to capitalize on the free press, but it just all seems a bit contrived.
