Have driven the Benz and the Porsche Boxster and there is no question , the Boxster has a smoother ride and will out handle anything else out there.

Keyser, was planning on checking a Boxster S out, think the interior might be a little cramped, did you take out the S model?

Barfly, Def leaning that way, checked out a 00 xk8 saphire w/ivory interior. Loaded 18' wheels etc. Beautiful cars. What color do you have? sounds like you're loving it!! You don't see as many on the road, but when you do they catch you're eye. Like the xk8 coupe as well.

Smooth, Like the Vettes, think the interior will have the similar problem as Boxster.

Anybody ever buy a car off of eBay?

Thanks for your replies

Corvette

Bought a 2000 Corvette Convertible.... for the value (yes, at 45K it is a value) it is the best! Love it, very few problems.....

When buying mine (bought new), I did a lot of calling around accross the US....wanted to find a good deal - local dealer (Milwaukee) would only sell at sticker....

After a lot of work, found a dealer outside of Cleveland Ohio....Ended up ordering from factory with exactly what I wanted... AND got it for about 3K less than sticker....

I have bought quite a few cars in my life and I can tell you that nobody has ever come close to the customer service and attention that I got from this Corvette salesperson (who sells Corvettes exclusively accross the US)!

Making things even better now (through the end of February), Chevy has $2002 cash back and 5.9% financing (yea, I know that interest rate doesn't sound that good in today's marketplace).

If you are seriously interested in pursuing, email Jack for my email address ... I can hook you up with this guy - he is the best... and when I flew down to Cleveland to pick mine up he indicated that anyone I sent him would also get a tremendous deal.... and the drive back was QUICK and wonderful...... ;)

Oh yea, regarding the interior - well, I'm 6'5'' and 220 pounds and VERY comfortable in the car.. in fact, drove down to the Corvette Museum last fall (Bowling Green KY) from Milwaukee - awesome drive..... Leg room was a big concern for me when shopping for a convertible... found that Corvette had the most of all the cars I checked out .... This wasn't the case in the older ones... but the C5 is definitely roomy!

No, I'm not a Corvette salesperson - I just love my car....

Thanks Mags,
If you're not a Vette salesman you ought to be, one hell of a testimonial. What is the C5, an upgraded package? I 've heard of the Z06, ZR1 and Callahan or Calloway models ???, don't know what the different packages encompass/include. Tough day to do a little convertible shopping, medium snow shower going on. Are heated seats a Vette option? Gotta have them, long story, LOL!!!

C5

C5

Raz,

C5 is just the body style - when they came out with the new design in 97, it was called the C5 - like the 5th generation....

My salesman had a lot to do with my experience - I can honestly say I've never had a more enjoyable buying experience buying anything in my life...... not only was he the best, the price about 3K better, he also threw in freebees worth another $300 - corvette jacket and stuff...

Email me if you want more info...

No heated seats tho..... doesn't go with a convertible...

Bluegrass!
I'd suggest taking a spin in one of the new Lexus convertibles b/4 you committ to anything. My ole man ordered one 2 months, and we test drove several. Only prob. is the cost--$55-$60k

SC430? What did you think? Cost is about 10k less than new Jag,
25k less than new MB. Love to hear what you thought.

Sorry for the delay.........The "S" is a bunch of hype.......Not at all able to justify the extra dollars for basically a few more mph's.........The regular boxster with the sport package is a much better value.....If you're serious about buying a vert, do yoursdelf a favor and at least drive one before you make your final decision......Good Luck
