Sorry my Canadian brothers but for some reason i like Koshneck. Just think a world class wrestler who is hungry can get the job done. Lets hope the Tim Sylvia match, who ever he fights, is the first fight of the night. How is Randy holding the belt but they have him rated as the #5 in the world? I think i like this card better than stacked 73

UFC 74: AUGUST 25, 2007 IN LAS VEGAS, NEVADA
likely venue: Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada

-Randy Couture (#5 Heavyweight in the World)* vs. Gabriel Gonzaga (#6 Heavyweight in the World)*
-Georges St. Pierre (#2 Welterweight in the World)* vs. Josh Koscheck (#4 Welterweight in the World)*
-Hayato "Mach" Sakurai (#2 Lightweight in the World)* vs. Diego Sanchez (#7 Welterweight in the World)*
-Joe Stevenson vs. Kurt Pellegrino

-Tim Sylvia (#7 Heavyweight in the World)* vs. TBA

Koschek has about a good chance as my grandma applying a rear naked choke on Sherk :142smilie

there is no way and I repeat no way GSP loses...he will kill and yes I do mean kill Josh.....it will be the first fatality in UFC history. GSP will knock Josh's head off and it will land in a ring girl's lap.....will be on all the highlight shows for months :com:

oh and Tim S isn't fighting (if you call what Tim does "fighting") in UFC 74

so far it is:

Randy Couture vs. Gabriel Gonzaga (100% confirmed)
Georges St. Pierre vs. Josh Koscheck (100% confirmed)
Joe Stevenson vs. Kurt Pellegrino (100% confirmed)
Marcus Aurelio vs. Clay Guida (highly likely)
Renato "Babalu" Sobral vs. David Heath (likely...but Babalu arrest leaves fight in doubt)
Kendall Grove vs. Patrick Cote (100% confirmed)
Travis Lutter vs. Ryan Jensen (highly likely)

i dont know Kick, he catches one of those leg kicks its gonna be tough for GSP to get him off. I think this is gonna be closer than what people think. Now if GSP connects on one of those kicks its lights out. I think Kosh will be ready for that. GSP shouldn't have jumped back against a guy this dangerous. Kosh improves every fight.

KIck i just watched the Hughes/GSP fight two and if GSP can get away with the same two kicks in the nuts he gave Hughes he proabably will beat Kosh.

18 after watching that fight over again you still have to be impressed with GSP. The guy is an animal. I just think it will be a close fight but im leaning GSP now. Some of those takedowns he stopped from Hughes were very impressive. Even tho Kick thinks im kidding here i think GSP lose to Serra had a lot to do with him spitting his water in the air when he got in the ring. He slippped on this very same spot when Serra nailed him.

"the bunker"
aurelio/guida?.......this one may just steal the show...

these ufc cards are becoming so good.....

this is a really interesting card....

btw...what`s up with the oddsmakers?.....why is anderson silva only a little over 2-1 vs rich franklin?.......
haven`t they seen him destroy franklin/leben and the great nate marquardt?.....

these fights aren`t even getting out the first round, for god`s sake....this guy has grown into THE most dominant(along with fedor)fighter in the game.....

what doesn`t he do better than franklin?....what physical advantage deoesn`t he have?....

I totatlly agree GW, Silva may really hurt Franklin in this fight. I would love to see a total battle but there has been nothing to prove it will be.

Sponge, Kos doesn't have a chance vs GSP. He's got great wrestling skills but his weakness is that he gets into bad positions on the ground and gets put into subs. That's why he never wanted to go to the ground with Diego and Diego fell for it thinking he could win standing. GSP will beat him whether it's standing or on the ground.

Gonzaga is getting a lot of love for beating Crocop. I can see Randy taking him down and dominating him with position, if Randy tries to stand with him I'm not sure what will happen.\

I believe the UFC confirmed Shogun vs Machida. This is going to be a fight people should be excited about. They are throwing Shogun into fire very quickly.

Well nevermind, I think they're feeding Forest to Shogun. Shogun by however he wants, what a joke for a fight. They need to get some damn fights for some of these guys. Machida hasn't faught anyone yet and there's no reason why.

Lay this sport is growing so fast they could have thrown in a payperview in between these last two. Geez even throw in a Spike special or something.

Geez after seeing the steroid stuff i couldn't believe how under paid these guys are. These figures are a disgrace. Shirk only got 28 thou? What is that after training? The pay per views have to be bringing in huge amounts.

MMAWeekly has obtained the fighter salary information for the UFC 73: Stacked, which took place on Saturday, July 7 in Sacramento, Calif.

The following figures are based on the fighter salary information that the Ultimate Fighting Championship is required by law to submit to the state athletic commissions. All figures provided by the California State Athletic Commission.

Although MMA fighters do not have collective bargaining or a union, the fighters' salaries are still public record, just as with every other major sport in the United States. Any undisclosed bonuses that the UFC also pays its fighters, but does not disclose to the athletic commissions, are not included in the figures below.

In the listings below, "Title Match & Main Event Fighters" are defined as fighters who compete in the main event of a show and/or compete in a title fight on a show. "Preliminary Match Fights" are fights that are taped before a television or pay-per-view show goes on the air, regardless of whether or not those fights aired on the telecast or pay-per-view broadcast.

The official attendance for UFC 73, as recorded by the CSAC, was 13,183. That total includes a paid attendance of 8,622, or 65.4% of the total attendance. There were 4,561 exempt or complimentary tickets that the promotion gave away, or 34.6% of the total attendance.

The total capacity of the Arco Arena for UFC 73 was 16,811. That leaves 3,628 tickets that were neither sold nor given away. The live gate (total gross receipts from ticket sales) for UFC 73 was $1,551,920, and the total disclosed fighter payroll was $761,000.

Title Match and Main Event Fighters

-Anderson Silva: $90,000 (defeated Nathan Marquardt; $45,000 + $45,000 win bonus)

-Sean Sherk: $28,000 (defeated Hermes Franca; $14,000 + $14,000 win bonus)

-Nathan Marquardt: $24,000 (lost to Anderson Silva)

-Hermes Franca: $14,000 (lost to Sean Sherk)

Sherk & Penn were scheduled as the main event for UFC 78.
Wanted to see that.Oh well.
UFC has taken a hit of late.
Silva/Chuck falls apart and leaves us with Chuck/Jardine instead.
Now they lose Sherk.

Ouch.
