Why the airlines begged for deregulation and now is crying for the government to bail them out? Am I missing something?

no kidding.....it is entirely their fault that security broke down.....they were in charge, and they dropped the ball.....no one carrying boxcutters who looked like Arabs should ever have been let near any plane....
