I think McGwire can recover from his farce at Congress because he was so adored by the fans. Bonds, although he'll probably end up being the home run champ of all time, will never be liked, steroids or not because he is such a jerk. Mac will be remembered for his play on the field and his homers, not for steroids. Bonds will be remembered as a jerk. I'll be telling my grandkids, "yeah, he might have the all time homerun record, but it was juice aided, and he was the biggest jerk in the history of sports."

Agree with AR .....McGwire is dead as a "hero" and he is going to have a serious HOF problem. I do think, however, that like Pete Rose could have, if he will come clean now he will save HOF and play it right and end up a positive public image again.
