1. If I update to the newest version of i-tunes will my library be saved as it is currently stands.

2. Is it possible to move your i-tunes library from one computer to another? If so, how?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

1. Yes, everything in your itunes library will be saved as it currently stands.

2. You need to get some kind of external harddrive to move your songs over to a new computer. When you plug your ipod into a new computer, it states something like, "if it syncs to the new computer all songs will be lost"

I just got a new computer and I had to sync my iphone to it. It was the damndest because i-tunes grayed out the music on my iphone in i-tunes, i couldn't delete, add, etc.

finally i transferred all my songs over to the new computer and synced it. All is well now.

I hate itunes... its a bitch. Supposedly there is some kind of hack you can do in order for your ipod, iphone, etc to be synced to two computers.

hopefully I helped you out on your question.

I bought a external hardrive for this purpose. I keep my i-tunes library on it. When I got my new Ipod, I just moved all songs over to new 'library' and picked them up...

First in your hearts.
iTunes rocks. You can move your iTunes library to several machines. You can only authorize up to 5 devices to play your iTunes purchased music.

If you buy a CD and import it into iTunes, you can copy the .aac or .mp3 file (or whatever format) to as many computers or iPods as you like. If you purchase a song from iTunes you can only play it on authorized devices, and you can only authorize up to 5 devices. This could mean 1 computer and 4 iPods, or three computers and 2 iPods, etc.

If the computer is authorized for the iTunes download then the iPods that sync with it count against the 5 authorized devices limit, even if they don't play the song.

To copy the library just burn the music files to a CD (150 or so per CD) or a DVD (1200 songs), or put them on a portable external harddrive.
