I have been to Vegas a dozen or so times for bachelor parties, boys' weekends, etc. but for Christmas this year my girlfriend's gift to me (and to her) was airfare, hotel accomodations, and all meals paid for two to the desert March 8th-11th. We are actually heading out there with another couple and I know we are going to have a great time. The reason I am posting this is to inquire about some good ideas for shows, site seeing, and restaurants to check out while we are in town. We are staying at the Palazzo (where I have stayed 6 or 7 times) and our agenda is wide open. I have been to a few good spots for food (Michael's, Piero's, etc) but I am looking for some ideas. Also, she wants to see a couple shows. Thoughts?

Thanks in advance for all the help. Let me know what ya'll think.

Deadmoney has posted about different restaurants. Top of the World is a very nice and romantic spot for couples. It's on the top of the strat. The restaurant outside of paris is nice (half inside half outside).

Shows, I would say Zumanity or Crazy horse. I have always enjoyed the Improv at Harrahs or one stop at the trop in Tropicana for cheap Comedy shows.

It's really hard to go wrong with the Cirque shows I think.

there is more throughout this forum, just read through the other threads

We really liked Mesa Grill. We also did SW Steakhouse, that was very nice.

Definitely do Bobby Flays Mesa Grill in Caesars and just get 4 appetizers to experience all the tastes. Get Tiger shrimp tomale and thank me later. Also, if you like stone crabs, Joes Stone Crabs in Caesars. There is a lunch special for 26 bucks a person, you get stone crabs, awesome Cole slaw, and amazing hash browns. Then a piece of key lime pie to finish it off. Great deal, and filling. Nick in above post was speaking of Mon Ami Gabi. Sit outside. Try the scallops in carmelized onions. Damn good. Fois gras, awesome, duck confit, amazing. nd, the fountain show is across the street every 20 minutes
The Cirque show "O" is awesome. Sit as close as you can to the stage for full effect. Have fun.

Best seat in Las Vegas - Olives

Best seat in Las Vegas - Olives

In the Bellagio shopping area there is a restaurant called Olives. It has an outside seating area overlooking the lake and the Bellagio fountains. Call ahead and ask for Elise, and let her know that you would like to sit outside, and that you will take care of her. (I usually tip her 40 bucks for a table for 4). The food is perfect every time. The view of the fountains and the strip cannot be beat. Literally, the best seat in town. We eat lunch there every single day that we are in Vegas every time we are there.

For the girls, the Beatles Love show is great at Mirage. Any of the acts (Celine, Elton, Cher etc) at Caesars do great shows and it is a nice small setting. Garth Brooks at Wynn is a show you should not miss if he is playing when you are there.

if you like asian food, i'd recommend little buddha at the palms. i was just there a few weeks ago, and not only is the food still great, the service is outstanding.

since you're so familiar with the palazzo, i'm sure you've been to the lux cafe but, man, i love their chicken and waffles.
