ESPN's Ed Werder reported the Cowboys will likely place Tony Romo (broken collarbone) on injured reserve/designated to return.

Romo is scheduled for a CT scan on his fractured left clavicle Monday. If the scan confirms the initial diagnosis, Romo should be placed on I.R./recall, which will force him to miss at least eight games.

In that scenario, Romo's earliest return date would be Thanksgiving Day against the Panthers.

Brandon Weeden will be the Cowboys' starter until Romo returns.

X-rays on Eddie Lacy's injured ankle came back negative.

It means Lacy is not dealing with a fractured ankle, but ESPN's Adam Schefter reported there is still "no firm timeline" for the injury.

Lacy is likely dealing with a sprain. Depending on the severity, Lacy could still be looking at a multiple-week absence.

James Starks played extremely well in relief of Lacy on Sunday night.

Bears TE Martellus Bennett and WR Josh Bellamy indicated after the Bears' Week 2 loss to the Cardinals Jay Cutler (hamstring) could miss Week 3.

Both players spoke about Jimmy Clausen as if he was going to start next week against the Seahawks.

"Jimmy just has to come in and fill in that role," Bellamy said. "We're going to catch a lot of balls from Jimmy during the week," Bennett said. These comments do not confirm Cutler is dealing with a long-term injury, but they could represent the best information we get out of the infamously tight-lipped Bears. We will have a better idea of Cutler's status for Week 3 after the first practice report is released on Wednesday.

49ers coach Jim Tomsula indicated Carlos Hyde (head) was held out of the second half of Sunday's loss as a precaution.

"He was evaluated for a head injury," Tomsula said following the 49ers' 43-18 loss to the Steelers. "He was cleared, but (we) opted not to put him in." Hyde admitted to feeling "dizzy" after taking a hit early in the third quarter. It sounds like he should be all systems go for Week 3 at Arizona.
