...just curious.

as a life long eagles fan, and season ticket holder for 10+ years, i want your take on TO.

first, do you wish right now that he wasn't on your team? and if so, at what point did you realize this? when they signed him? when he wasn't practicing preseason? or at what point during this season did you decide this?

or, are you still happy he is a cowboy?

secondly,

if behind closed doors, the rest of the cowboy roster was asked (with anonymity guaranteed) if they wished TO was a cowboy or not - what percentage would say they wish he wasn't on their team?

i think that percentage would be close to 80% or more.

thanks for your input.

First, I am glad he is on our team. He opens up the offense and is a great player. He'll only get more opportunities as the season goes on and I can see him staying in Dallas for the 3 yr tenure causing no problems. Having said that, I think Terry Glenn is the most underrated WR in the league and is on the same playing level as Owens.

I think 9 out of 10 Cowboys are VERY glad to have TO on their team.

The guy will be a definite asset under Parcells system or he could lose everything.

thanks kneifl.

interesting. that's completely the opposite of what i would think. obviously his behavior so far doesn't concern you at all.

"can see him staying in dallas for the 3 year tenure causing no problems"

now that's real interesting to me!

agree with you on terry glenn. not sure if he is the talent TO is, but he is underrated.

can't wait for sunday.

would welcome other cowboy's fans thoughts on this. or if any other fan would take him or leave him on their team.

cant stand the guy. i grew up in Dallas and Irving. loved the team since i can remember. i hope i am wrong, but i believe that he will poison the team at some point. i just hope a coach as strong as parcells is there when it happens, to kick his ass out of the city. if he doesnt have a melt down, then he will help the team, but its hard to ignore the past.
to me he represents alot of what is wrong with pro athletes.
i hope he recognizes the incredible gift he has been given. but i am skeptical.

I can assure you that estimation is way off base.

As far as I'm concerned personally, I'm not a huge Dallas fan but I think he greatly stregthens the team's offense and the Cowboys are a better team for it.

see, this is exactly how i would expect any cowboys fan to feel, but this is with the hindsite of having this cancer set my team back like he did.

and as far as parcells. i get the impression, since the whole "not practicing preseason", that he thinks this is a mistake, and i see him not putting up with too much BS. this last fiasco is something parcells never could of imagined that he would have to address while coaching pro football, and i agree that he'll pull the plug sooner than later.

i am probably way off base. the guy is a stud. one of the best, if not the best right now.

when he came to philly, i quickly forgot his past. he was the man. we would all welcome that kind of talent. and he produced.

in sports, it's easy to "hate" a player, especially one who not only goes to the "enemy", but leaves your team the way he did. but in reality, i don't "hate" the guy, i feel sorry for the guy. he's a nutbag, there is something wrong there, and unfortunately i don't see it getting better.

Long time Cowboys fan... since the Staubach era.

I would rather go 0 and 16 than have T. Owens on my team. He is everything that is wrong with today's athletes.

Personally I think TO gets crucified here or anywhere he goes. If he farts, the media is there to smell, touch, feel:mj07: I really love that he his playing for the Cowboys, What I dont like is all the attention he gets. The media liives for this kind of guys. They all bitch and wine that they are tired of talking about the guy but still do, day in and day out.

Does he improve the team, you bet you hard earn money he does. Does he play hard for you on Sunday, you bet he does. Is he a pain in the A&&, you bet he is. Will he have another distraction before the end of the year odd are
99.9%.

If you walked around Dallas picking out random people and asking them if they like TO, I would be will to bet that everyone here is please with him, as long as he can produce on Sunday...

i dont have any doubts about his ability. if he can contribute to their success, cosistently for several years, i will definetly admit i was wrong. here's hoping i'm wrong.

incredible how consistent he is in being a total a-hole. now, not only is he is a cancer, but he can't catch anymore! send him packing is the best thing they could do. biggest a-hole out there today. he just doesn't get it. he is a certifiable nutjob.

he leads all WRs in the entire league with 12 touchdowns, despite the fact that he is playing with a torn tendon in his hand, as well as the fact that the first half of the year he had suck-ass Bledsoe as his QB. He could've undergone season-ending surgery, but chose not to do so. Let's not forget that he came back from injury (in miraculous fashion) for the Eagles, and almost single-handedly won them the Super Bowl. No other player would've played on that ankle.

Is he an a-hole ? Most certainly yes. BUT, he is also one of, if not THE best WR in all of football.

P.S. I am NOT a Cowboys fan.

Believe he also leads the league in drops and is the prototypical loser with the ability to explain each fvck up away, the latest being, "I'm not involved in the game plan more. Every team I've ever been on, I've been involved in the game plan early and often."

He also leads the league in balls thrown to which usually equates to more touchdowns.

not necessarily. Guys like Chris Chambers and Derrick Mason are amongst the league leaders in balls thrown to, and they didn't do squat this year. I am acutely aware of this fact, as they were on my fantasy team this season. Ironically, so was TO who was the # 2 WR in my fantasy league behind only Marvin Harrison.

whether or not the fans like T.O. in the metroplex is directly proportional to present status in the media. The media and of course radio talk shows completely control the mind of all Dallas fans regardless of sport. If the media says Phony Homo is a pro bowler, a cowboy fan will explain away every argument to the contrary with outrageous statements in an effort to "re-energize" the brainwashing they have received since birth. Only place I know where you see a guy driving down the highway towing a trailer full of hay with the word "redneck" in the rear window next to their confederate flag, wearing a Jason Terry jersey. They still think Roy Williams is a good safety and act like you just asscaved their mom when you suggest he be moved to linebacker.
Now, on the bright side, I have been to the game on Thanksgiving and Christmas as well as several others and have never paid even face value.

Hell I don't know
I live in Indy, when the eagles cut him i wanted him here ( I knew it couldn't happen though!) Now i would probably stop buying season tix if indy wasted 3 or 4 million a year on him. :scared I'd rather watch Rob Morris miss 10 tackles a game :s2: :mj01:
