Would love to know why Creighton is only laying 5 at Indiana St, Creighton had been playing their best ball of the season before the setback at home to s. ill on saturday, but s ill is the best team in the mvc and just about the worst. On top of this Creighton spanked this team 70-46 in Creigton! Only reason I can think of for this small line is vegas wants creighton money, can you say FIXTOWN, USA! Would appreciate others feedback on this game someone tell me why not to take creighton :confused:

Thanks

Very strange line indeed. . . especially when Indiana State has won ONLY 4 games this entire season. . . absolutely no reason why State should be in contention unless Creighton has a letdown.

Also, Creighton needs this win in order to stay at the top of the conference with Southern Illinois. Can't see them looking ahead to Northern Iowa without taking care of business here first.

Obviously I'm missing something!

Block played against Wichita St. Had 25 pts. and 13 rebounds on Sunday. Indiana St. has played much better of late. I still like Creighton, but that's the explanation for the line.

Here's ISU's last four games:

@Wich. St. 84-87 (L)
@Bradley 57-60 (L)
SW Miss. 53-59 (L)
@N. Iowa 71-65 (W)

Evansville had been playing a lot worse than ISU, then they beat N. Iowa last night. Had a hard time calling some of these Valley games this year.

SIU and Creighton are clearly the class of the league and the only teams that can be counted on to win on the road. I don't think it's as strong a play as y'all do, but it's hard not to like Creighton.

While I'm here, if SIU plays the way their suppose to, WSU can bring their "A" game tonight and still get blown out. WSU beat them at home a couple of weeks ago, playing a nearly flawless game. SIU is a much better team that likes to run and now has even more motivation. I look for it to get ugly. WSU is totally different on the road. If they get behind early, they'll crumble like a saltine cracker. WSU is now 3-31 in the last 34 conference road games.

This game reminds me a lot of the UL Lafayette/New Orleans game the other night in which UL Lafayette was laying only -1.5 to New Orleans who they had beat by 30 two weeks before. Also, UL Lafayette had was like 10-1 vs. New Orleans ATS prior. New Orleans won the game and yeah, I think the oddsmakers wanted the money on UL Lafayette in that one too. If it looks to good to be true ... it usually is! Just my thoughts.

FIXTOWN, USA

FIXTOWN, USA

Just like I said in the original post, can't play it big b/c its fixed, and I'm not just saying games are fixed b/c I lost a bet, I don't know if anyone else noticed but Mark Cuban said that he has been told by another nba gm that some nba games WERE PREDETERMINED! As well as this I have been told by bookies before that games were fixed, I know a lot of madjackers love to deny this but SOME games are fixed. There is too many billions of dollars involved in the betting industry. Creighton was up 8 with 3 mins left, then a nice little 10-3 run for indiana st to lose by 1. Sorry MJ if I got a little off topic but :thefinger to Vegas!

I don't know...

I don't know...

Why would Vegas risk EVERYTHING by fixing games? They can make plenty of money by merely splitting the action.

I'm not saying you are wrong, but I would like to know why they would risk it and what evidence there is that it has been done.

If you are saying that a few people get together and fix games, we all know that has happened and probably still does. I just don't think that it is right to blame "Vegas"

Took the bait and paid for it, luckily the Wolfpack bailed me out. I guess if a game looks "to good to be true" it probably is.

McGain that is it,there are no fixes,but there are shadded lines and when aline looks low it is that for a reason,i knew it was low but played it why,because the easy thing is to buy into the shadded line but the hard and smart thing to do is to play against it,and i know better,either take other side of a shade game or lay off,it was my mistake and if you find a line that is lower buy 4-5 points using more then 3 different power ratings and there are no inj's or susp. then it hits over or around 60% of the time just watch it the rest of the year and check.

like i said i played it knowing better and feel right into it but it is in no way a fix from vegas trust me on that and that is a LOCK.

Mistake Finder---hey , i really agreed w/ your creighton call..the way I looked at it was, if your going to play the game, the lean had to be w/ Creighton...I agree w/ Fletch...that the line on the game was "shady'...which translates to me usually, "Stay off the game"...I played it right along w/ you ....you do a real solid job and I always appreciate your comments...I'm frustrated w/ the Ohio St. outcome tonight...the refs had a factor...disturbing as it was, I probably should've stayed off the game...anyway, good luck tomorrow and thanks for your input...crib

I respectfully, and I DO mean respectfully disagree with the consensus on this thread. The line wasn't that far off. Block is by far ISU's best player. He's missed most of ISU's games. He had a 25/13 in his last game. With Block missing from the lineup, it skewed ISU's power rating. They've had quite a few injuries this year, but they're all getting healthy at about the same time. ISU has been getting better the last two weeks. (as you can see in my earlier post) i would have chosen Creighton if I had to, but I still think the line was about right.

If I come across as a jerk, I didn't mean to...I just had to point this out.

that was a good point,and its hard to adjust power ratings for a few games after a key player comes back till you see if he is going to preform and thats why the line was shaded low ,because books figuared him into their factor and thats why it was where it was at but a true power rating can't adjust that quick and thats where you see these games.

they knew what they were doing and most of the time are right,now check isu power rating next week with a few different ones and you will see it match up to what this line was tonight next week.

great work on your part.
