CT report......I know, you've heard it before. but here it is anyhow.
Ct is #1 and they deserve the rank ....
They are sooooooooo loaded I can't believe it!
Ben Gordon is "The Man" and if he has the year he is capable of..
he can call his own numbers...Don't think anyone can stop him except himself.......Last night he won the dunk contest and the 3 Pt shooting... at 'Madness"....... he 'll be 40-45% from 3 along with Rashad Anderson who matched Ben.. shot for shot...the kid LOVES to shoot and shows NO FEAR....(not always the case at CT) He'll have a few BIG games but should be good for 10-15 ppg.....Then there is small forward Denham Brown.........this kid is a scorer any way ya want it....he was a little reluctant as a freshman ....averaging 7.7 . He might be the 2nd best Defender on the team after Okafor and is ready to play an integral role this year. (also around 40% from 3) Then there is Okafor... who could be rich now if he wanted to be......best 'all-around" big man in the USA.....a scorer 16ppg , defender, shot blocker (led country) leader... best work ethic...."A" student etc, etc. Then there is Taliek Brown who will run the show for the 4th straight year....he's capable ....sometimes out of control... but will score 7.7 and 4.8 assists . he can take it to the hole...rebound and is a very tough defendor.........CT allowed opposition 37% last year ...4th best in the nation...better this year....great depth and late legs.
Then there is Charlie Villanueva who at 6'10" will contribute right away ....may be 1 and done as he almost went to the draft this year....Hilton Armstrong at 6' 10" ....Rebounder 6'8" Marcus White. Frosh guard Marcus Williams,......... 6'10" Josh Boone who impressed at madness......... Regular contributor, and excellent defendor Shamon Tooles...........Coach Calhoun thinks he has 5 guys on this team who could end up in the NBA....He needs to get everyone on the same page cuz noone has more athletes.

Gl Bear. . . I know what its like to have a loaded team

No matter what you have to like their chances in March and then it just comes down to how well they are playing together. UConn should be in the Elite Eight. . . then they have a shot like the other seven.

Nickelback....

Nickelback....

No question about it.....
There is so much talent out there that is WELL coached that anything can happen in March.......witness Syracuse!
Regular season becomes a readiness event...to have your team peaking at the right time is BIG...

Gotta like UNC for a big year if they can put last year behind them
Also ....Gonzaga will be very tough again this year....

This is the time of year I like the best.... Time now to look for a few sleepers to make some early $ on like St Marys......

I remember thinking two years ago that the Zags had were set up to have a REAL strong team for this season. I actually thought they might struggle last year, and they obviously didn't - some of my buddies and I still talk about that Arizona game in the tourney. Things are looking good in Spokane. Can't wait for the season to start!

Arizona/Gonzaga was the best game ever. . . being an Arizona fan, I was happy with the outcome but Gonzaga had just as much right to walk away from that game with a win as Arizona because both teams won that game several times before it was all over.

The Zags should certainly be another power to contend with once again.
