In fact, Wells is 3-0 in his last 3 starts with a 0.92 ERA and a sparkling 1.02 WHIP. By contrast, Lieber is 0-2 in his last 3, albeit with a good 3.66 ERA and a 1.32 WHIP. Since both offenses are struggling, this probably low scoring contest may very well be decided by the bullpens. It appears that the Pirates have a big edge in this department, as what figures to be their available bullpen tonight has a group ERA of 2.48 with a WHIP of 1.20, while the available Cubs pen has a 4.96 ERA and 1.48 WHIP.
