Cubs batting woes continue...

McGriff hasn't been able to spark the top of the order since joining the Cubs.

Latest road trip...
Eric Young 6-26
Delino DeShields 5-34
Ricky Gutierrez 5-26

Cubs avging 3.6 runs per game since McGriff joined, 4.6 runs per game before.

Cubs last 5 O/U 1-4
Rockies last 5 O/U 2-3
Umpire Randy Marshall O/U 6-11

Last 3 for both pitchers looks good as both have pitched excellent only to lose games or get ND as bullpens have let them down. Combined ERA for L3, 6.79

If memory serves, Cubs day games at home go under the total quite often. Not sure where I can check this, can anyone check and maybe provide me a resource where I can check in future?

Line total hasn't been posted yet but looks like it'll open at 9.

My lean is to under, anyone wish to share any opinions?

Just thinking out loud here...

Most people seem to LOVE the cubs today and MANY taking run line. However, line is dropping like a rock. -210 -200 -180

-210 for the Cubs who have only been playing .500 ball since the break was too high. Wonder if this line movement is just a correction or or is action going on Rockies?

I agree with the under as well. Look behind the plate as marsh has had the under come in 11 out of 17 times, and he averages 8.11 runs per game. However the forecast calls for the wind to blow out for the entire of the game.

wind is blowing West at 12mph and the O/U for wind in this direction (10mph-20mph) is 2-0.

10 runs seems a little too high for my taste, especially at Wrigley, with 2 struggling offenses. Thomson was once a top prospect for the Rockies, and pitched very well in his last game. He has a sharp slider, a 90 mph 2 seamer, and a 95mph 4 seamer. He only gave up 4 runs in his last start, which is very impressive considering the game was at Coors and with him just coming off of the DL. I don't think the wind will be as big a factor here as besides Helton, Sosa, and McGriff, everyone else are contact hitter who don't hit a lot of fly balls with authority. The high humidity should neutralize the effect of the wind blowing out.

I'm taking under the 10 before it drops, IMHO.

Watched the Cubs entire series versus Dodgers and they couldn't hit or score. I believe that they have a much better record of scoring runs at home, but they are definitely having trouble lately.
