The Curse of The Bambino was reversed!!!!
I just realized it when I saw highlights of Wells, Stottlemeier and Clemens dared to drink with and Pour champagne on the Babe's Monument. The Baseball Gods were Not Happy. 100 yrs from now they will be pointing to this moment for the reason the yankees never one another world series.
Wells is a firm believer in the Curse of the Bambino, the supposed hex placed on the Red Sox for trading Babe Ruth to the Yankees in 1920. Thus, after Aaron Boone eliminated Boston with his 11th-inning homer in Game 7 of the ALCS, Wells decided on a proper tribute.
During a long, raucous post-game celebration, Wells, Clemens and pitching coach Mel Stottlemyre walked out to Monument Park beyond the center-field wall in Yankee Stadium, drank some champagne and poured some on Ruth's monument.
"We decided to have a toast with the Babe," said Wells, who once tried to wear a cap previously worn by Ruth in a game. "We went out there and we did it.
"He's shining on us, he's looking down. Why not give him a toast, man? He's the one that got us here. From 1918 till now, the Curse lives."
Yes the Curse Lives You fat bastard, The Babe don't do Bubbly!!!
You reversed the Curse Thank You.
