Dallas-Ft. Worth area

My best friend will be relocating to the area this summer, and there is a good chance I will be coming along for the ride. I don't know much about the area, so what can you guys familar with the area tell me about it, as far as the good and the bad things about it?

Also, it sounds like he would like to get a condo. Any recommendations on the best places in the area to look in the 250-400k, 2 bedroom price range??
