After throw up Tuesday, taking the only favorites I like for the first two days. Also threw in a "first four" game:

USC -4 -101 x3

The Trojans come into the tournament on an 7-3 run, including 4-2 away from home. VCU limps into the dance losing 5 of 8 games. USC has to much size in the paint, win the turnover margin, and better defensively.

Vanderbilt -2 -110 x3

Not a fan of HC Stallings, but feel they will be ready to erase the last two years? losses on the first day. Most people love #12 seeds as there have been a few upsets with this 5/12 match-up. In reality, the five seed wins approx. 75% of the time.

Washington -5.5 -101 x3

Very experienced Huskies team with great guards. They caught a break by not having to play early on east coast time. They came away winners last year against #6 seed Marquette and #3 seed New Mexico.

Arizona -6 -101 x3

Memphis is a great match-up for the Wildcats. Memphis lacks size inside, one of the few things that has caused trouble for Arizona. Also like HC Sean Miller, a Herb Sendek prot?g?.

Texas -9.5 -106 x3

The Longhorns limped into the tournament last year, going 5-6, and lost in the first round to Wake Forest in OT. They look to be in better shape this year, against a Golden Grizzlies team with one quality team. Oakland gets to much love by the pundits and general public for me.

No-go this week, Wayne. Forgot about some work things that I have to get done before my trip to Reno later this month. Bummed about it, too. 1st year in many that I won't be sitting in a bar watching hoops and drinking beer during the 1st round of the NCAAs....:sadwave:

Fwiw...Regarding the 12 vs 5 match-ups....

I've got the 12's as 10-14 straight up since 2004

Also 12's have covered the last six games played vs a 5 seed.

I'll doublecheck this info...

GL and thanks for sharing

Handi Capper, Sendek worked under Pitino. I came to admire Herb at NCST. Loophole gave me the heads up on Herb several years ago and thank him for it.

Mike, disappointing for sure.

rrc, I must have the wrong info, thanks for pointing that out, go Badgers!

Wisconsin -5 -101 x4
0-2 not a good start, not real smart to try play-in games.

Time to unleash some puppies:

Princeton +13 -105 x4
UCSB +13 -103 x4
