I think Polyester might be losing touch with his roots.

Yesterday, Dallas was coming in after winning 8 of their last 10 while Minny had lost 7 of their last 10. I think the Polyester should have been pounding the mavs.

On baseball:
I love your futures suggestion on the Texas Rangers. I don't think it requires a big fade from Oakland or Seattle, either. With the talent on that team, if they keep their act together (and you don't need me to tell you how volatile that clubhouse may be) and get a career year out of a pitcher or two, they could win 100 games with that line-up. Park was a HUGE acquisition. Hopefully Burba and Valdes are solid.

I certainly don't see a worse rotation than Cleveland had in the mid 90's,while I do see a better line up. Of course, they are in a tougher division.

On the other hand, if they implode, they could lose 100 games. That's a very interesting squad, with hall of famers A. Rodriguez, I. Rodriguez, Palmeiro, J. Gonzalez. Yes, I do think Palmeiro will be a hall of famer (check out rbi leaders for the 90's). Maybe Gonzalez if he has a couple more big years, which he will.

Anyway, at 50-1 or 40-1, I like that.

***NOLAN REPLIES: In retrospect, I think you are right. Seems easy to see that now. I was thinking the Wolves in a home dog spot was odd, so it seemed that would be the polyester play. I'm losing my touch with this and perhaps I should shelve the idea until next season. It may have some merit, but we need more trials and probably some additional feedback from you and others, instead of just my opinion.

***NOLAN REPLIES: Obviously, I agree with you. The rangers are long odds because of their division, but are clearly one of the top offensive teams in baseball. If the pitching staff can just have a mediocre year by normal standards, Texas could win 95 games, get a wild card, then get hot in the playoffs (trying not to burst out laughing at that last remark). 50-1 means this team is LESS LIKELY than average (average is 32-1) to win the WS. I suggest their chances are MUCH BETTER than average and so we have a huge overlay here.

So. Cal
Nollan don't go

Nollan don't go

I've been using you as the "polyester man plays of the day" and have been doing quite well.
Please don't stop making NBA picks, then I may have to make my own picks!:D

Yeah -- I didn't mean to come in like a monday morning quarterback on that one, just thought I'd throw it out there.

I was doing more posting and capping, but I've become real busy at work lately. Feb. was getting pretty cold for me gambling-wise for a while, too.

Tonight, I'd have to say Polyester likes :
1) The Kings getting points at Charlotte (are you kidding me?)

2) The Mav's getting points at Boston (they're gonna be pissed after that loss <-- the anger factor is a great polyester "technique")

3) Minny only giving up 3.5 to the Knicks.

4) Dall/Bos o211. THE WAY THESE TWO LIGHT IT UP??? The over is a LOCK.

There's 4 for ya, and if you can't play too many games, you're really not suited for the poly, are ya?

Shrimp:

I see your point on DALL and SACR....both games look too easy. I will lay off the other two games (polyester wise), because you could debate those games. So, let's add DALL and SACR as the Polyester Plays of the Day. Results will be posted to tomorrow's record. Thanks for the tip.
