the desire to eliminate multiple government agencies is all about getting rid of fraud and waste and saving tax dollars, right?

soooo... please explain why they are doing everything they can to eliminate the CFPB. the CFPB's budget is $800M. They have returned over $30B to US taxpayers. not to mention all the work they've done to, you know, protect consumers (that's us!) from being gouged by the big banks, among others.

c'mon, make it make sense.

Economic depressions can favor the rich, especially if they are the cause and can properly prepare. It’s more and more evident that calling them a cult is not hyperbole. Cult members normally don’t know they’re in a cult until it’s too late. They’re all siked he’s keeping promises but refuse to believe the very real consequences that those actions will have on us all, including his base. Which is a lot of non college educated blue collar working middle class. #dontlookup

If you want to know who's interests they are looking out for, this tells you everything you need to know.
exactly. just heard the other day that musk was under investigation by one of the agencies (USAID?) he's shutting down. something to do with the use of his starlink satellites in ukraine.

this. they keep the cult members locked in a culture war while exploiting the shit out of them.

it wasn't long ago that the right wing HATED the "elites." now they lick the boots of the world's richest man and a man who has pretended to be a billionaire most of his life.

lots of crickets in here. nothing but crickets. well, except for the dumbest cricket of all. he's nowhere to be found. sean hannity can't explain this one to him, so he's got nothing.

c'mon, cie, you think you're the smart one in the group. make this make sense.

why have republicans been hellbent on destroying an agency that MAKES money for the american people AND helps protect them from unfair business practices from the financial industry.

trump and musk are such stellar businessmen... but they don't like a federal agency that makes money. and, you know, does a lot of good.

help me out here. explain it like i'm stupid.

Musk's X Money was going to have a problem with the CFPB. Manipulate Trump into letting you get rid of it, problem solved.
oh, I know why he did it. YOU know why he did it. but these fucking idiots who are cheering while musk fires tens of thousands of people (remember, roughly 30% of them are veterans) certainly don't get it.

they are so convinced that they are winning that they don't give a fuck what musk is doing.

so funny that's they haven't replied. we all know they've read it. and we all know their right wing media can't explain this to them, because even for them this would be a huge stretch.

they just move on and forget this inconvenient truth because, again, it doesn't fit their worldview.

must be nice, to have all your opinions spoon-fed to you so you don't have to do any thinking on your own.

i've said this before... i really, REALLY want to know what goes through their head when they see a question like this. is there a split second where some neurons start firing and a quick thought flickers into existence... "am i being lied to by some billionaires, just so they can do whatever the fuck they want?"

There isn’t a playbook. There will be missteps. The point is to reduce government spending and national debt en route to Improving our debt to GDP ratio

The people voted very comfortably in favor of this specific platform. You can cry about it every step of the way, and it’s still going to happen. As I’ve said 20 times on here in the past month, we will know in about three years if this is working out. Until then, sit back and enjoy the ride.

There literally is a playbook!!! It’s Project 2025!!!!
We’re not crying about the missteps, we’re pointing at them saying “we told you “.

We voted for musk led DOGE to shrink the bureaucracy and slash federal spending. It’s happening just like DJT said it would. We voted for an Increase in deportations and border security. We know this is happening. We voted for tariffs used to balance trade and lead to investments the USA by global firms. Apple is planning on doing so.

It’s like parenthood, they are flying blind. you don’t receive a step-by-step guide to reducing government, and certainly don’t always make the right decision along the way.

I recommend you chill. We’ve had government run your way for 12 of the last 16 years. The last 16 years have been horrendous. Looking at our debt and our debt to GDP ratio makes me want to throw up. The people voted for a different path. Let’s hope we were right.

you can say we told you, but the reality is, we’re not gonna know if this worked until we see the debt and the GDP the debt ratio down the line.

I wish I could share your "optimism", but I lived through his first term.

Obama took over with a $10 trillion debt and doubled it. Trump added 7 trillion, and Biden added 9 trillion. I thought Trump did a less than stellar job with the debt even before the massive Covid expenditures his last 18 months

Thankfully, this time he ran on lowering the debt, he has far less establishment bureaucrats on his team, and DOGE is already executing the plan. Your guess is as good as mine that it will work. I am hopeful it will, of course. Then again, I’m hopeful that every president is able to strengthen our republic. We shall see how it goes.

Lex Friedman said today :

Minimizing bureaucracy should be supported by everyone. It's obvious.

It's depressing to see how much inefficiency there is in government, the very system that has the opportunity and responsibility to help a lot of people at scale.

Everything should be made digital (fast, easy, accessible), transparent (no waste/corruption), and all processes made as simple as possible.

Talk about clueless. Trump won because Biden was blamed for the post COVID inflation spike (like every other world leader that was in office at the time). They didn't vote for Musk, DOGE, mass federal layoffs, unqualified cabinet members and complete chaos. They believed he would make the prices go down. See elections from around the world if you don't believe me.
