Hey dogfish,
do you usually bet to win, across the board, or exacta's. I like doing exacta boxes with 2 other horses, but other people say its just as easy as placing to win. what are your thoughts???

K-dogg sorry for those losers sunday.almost feel like a winner with the last pick(late scratch).
i bet mostly win,if at nice odds in a decent size field might bet place.also like too key my win horse first and second with other contenders in the exactas,and sometimes tri's.lately with a bad run as i have had at the end hollywood and a slow start at del mar been cutting my loses to win bets.i never bet show not worth the risk for the return.win betting works best for me if you can pick winners.the exoitics will come.if your comfortable boxing a few and are cashing tickets stick with it.there is no right way to bet what works for one my not work for another, important to keep records of your plays and bet on your strengths.
at hollwood last meet posted plays.140-27-21-26 .19% win at ave. of $9.25 this is not good and hard to even post but its the facts.but still if someone played $2.00 on those plays to win they would have lost only $30.20.win % peaked at .31% at over $10.hope some serious cash was made by a few that went along during that run.when things are hitting like that you must increase your wagers and get in those exiotic pools,then you may have enough to get through the times like now.there are some good cappers here and many a days MJB saved my ass by posting got me to look at a horse i had tossed.Jrd Horse tips,pengiun and valuist,collins can always learn more from these guys.:SIB
