So Cal
The best thing I can say about Del Mar is that it certainly is a beautiful setting for a race track. As far as handicapping goes, I feel it is a total crap shoot. The track bias varies from race to race. Hollywood Park form is of no use whatsoever. It is a longshot player's paradise even if the percentage of winning favorites is high. There are many days when the inside posts will dominate. Other days you can scratch off the 1-5 posts as they have no chance. I have heard a million explanations over the years from the rise and fall of the tide to you name it. It is a great place to visit, but for me I try to keep my wallet firmly in my pocket when I go there. It wouldn't be a place to make large wagers in my opinion. But it is beautiful and there are tons of great restaurants within a few miles in every direction.

Dogfish, sorry for the late reply. Here is a bias that seems to work at just about any track:

Bobby Frankel + Turf + Graded Event = Winner :D

So Cal
I totally agree with Lucky seven's analysis. Only problem is that sometimes he puts two horses in the same race and you have to pick just one of them!
