Sunday was a extremely long day. We started hauling the cars cars to the fair a 4:30 am. The last car was dropped at 6:30. We would have just drove them to the fair but the rear-ends were welded and we didn't want them to break by running them on pavement.Finally got the cars inspected at 1:30pm for the 3:00 pm show. After the show was over it took about 2 hrs to strip 3 cars and haul 2 of them back home. Then it was time to hit the beer tent to do some major lying about how we did...LOL. The day ended at 9:00pm. Everyone was dead tired from being in the sun all day but we all had a blast.
Here is the wifes car. She lasted a long time in her heat. Made it to 6th in her heat even after blowing her radiator and having the linkage hang up while entering the track so the motor would idle at 8000rpm.
Car my son drove. Hardly any damage. He made 1 hit and then flooded engine. Oh well it was his 1st time. He will run again in 2 weeks.
Wifes sons car. Hardly any damage. Made 2 hits and then flooded engine. Radiator got taken out while he was trying to restart. 1st year also running. Guess we are going to have to teach the kids how to drive cars with carburetors on them.
This car was suppose to be driven by my son but things came up and he couldn't so my brother in law drove it. He made it halfway thru the heat but got hung up with another car and got counted out. My friend will drive this one in another derby in a couple of weeks.
There were no pics taken of my car after the derby (The wife and I are still having a discussion about why they weren't taken..LOL) Made it to 4th in the heat. 1 away from the final.
