No doubt Obama is the better choice after watching part of the debate. All Clinton did was nod her head.
Take it to the bank it will be Obama with Hillary as vice president.

I think Romney or McCain will beat either one of them in the general election, hopefully...

Hey Weas, what did the GOP do to "close the borders"? I knew this would be a rallying cry for you nitwits. It's an easy mark. Please, enlighten us all with what the Republicans did to solve the illegal alien problem. I can already hear the crickets chirping. The GOP has become a collection of flag waving dipshits selling us all out to multi-national corporate interests that could care less about America as we are sold down the river towards 3rd world nation status.

I don't think Hillary would take the Vice-Presidency under Obama - not her style, I don't think. And I certainly don't think Obama would want her/Bill around cluttering things up, either.

But I do think either of them will beat Romney or McCain in the election. Still sticking to my earlier prediction of Hillary over McCain in the finals.

Still wondering if the rumor of Minnesota Governor Pawlenty being named McCain's running mate will come true, if he gets the nomination. Heard that long ago.

Just saw where mike wallace has both mCcain and hilliary on Sunday. That will be interesting. He has been grilling the Rebs on interviews and surprised any are coming back--which brings me to Catch 22--why is hilliary coming on--if you remember several months back Bill was interviewed by him--and went of on rant that qeustion was out of line :)

worth another look
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WYNI5RPOlp4

Which makes me wonder why she is coming on and will he treat her as everyone else or cut her some slack.

What was the big deal with that whole Clinton-Wallace saga anyway.....people were pissed and mocked the questioner and people were pissed and mocked the way the guy answered.

Still dont understand it......we get turned off by politicians and athletes stale and staged answers as well as softball questions from the media.....yet when we get a hardball question with a passionate, equally hardball answer we flip out.

I thought it was pretty compelling all around and did not see anything wrong with the question or answer. It was interesting as hell to listen to Clinton try and tear down someone in the 'blame everything on clinton crowd.'

As a former journalist, I loved it when I could hit the right buttons to get responses like that.....its the only way to get answers.

Anyway, on to this....since its still the primary and Ole Hill needs to impress the proverbial base, she will probably look to tear into Wallace......if this were the general election, her handlers would tell her to act like his best friend.

Any guesses or bets on what question her handlers have told her to just go off on if she is asked? The possibiliities are endless.

Haven't made up my mind yet but, just looking forward to January 20, 2009. I hope the country can survive until that time. Obviously either candidate will be a vast improvement over evil that has ravaged this country for the last seven years.

What I like more about Obama is that his opposition to pac and lobbyist money. This goes along with my position on the core problem facing the US (campaign finance reform). Based on this issue, I lean towards him.

I think every republican out there should realize how that party and its candidates are defending the current system. You talk about a corrupt party. I mean really. The democrats are bad but, cheez, these guys are just laying it out there for everyone to see.

By the way, I heard that Bush is blaming the latest figures on the downturn in the economy on the liberal media. Whew, I thought it was the trial lawyers, activist judges, and/or Bill Clinton.

Remember, the republicans were too busy defining marriage as a union between a man and a woman to worry about something as minor as illegal aliens and border security. C'mon guys, get your priorities in order.

You did mean- C'mon guys get "my" priorities in order-didn't you Edward.

Appears some of your priorities are taking a hit--looks like the Code pinkies/Libs may have to live with their convictions :)

Update on articles below
Hit in the Wallet

Reaction has been swift and strong to the decision we told you about Thursday by the city of Berkeley, California ? to declare Marine Corps recruiters "uninvited and unwelcome guests."

Republican Senator Jim Demint is drafting legislation to strip Berkeley of all its federal earmarks in the current budget ? about $2 million worth.

Demint says ? "The First Amendment gives the City of Berkeley the right to be idiotic, but from now on they should do it with their own money."

An official in the office of Marine Commandant General James Conway says there are no plans to move the recruiting office out of Berkeley.

Hey-hey, ho-ho, the Marines in Berkeley have got to go.
That's the message from the Berkeley City Council, which voted 6-3 Tuesday night to tell the U.S. Marines that its Shattuck Avenue recruiting station "is not welcome in the city, and if recruiters choose to stay, they do so as uninvited and unwelcome intruders."

In addition, the council voted to explore enforcing its law prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation against the Marines because of the military's don't ask, don't tell policy. And it officially encouraged the women's peace group Code Pink to impede the work of the Marines in the city by protesting in front of the station.

In a separate item, the council voted 8-1 to give Code Pink a designated parking space in front of the recruiting station once a week for six months and a free sound permit for protesting once a week from noon to 4 p.m.

Councilman Gordon Wozniak opposed both items.

The Marines have been in Berkeley for a little more than a year, having moved from Alameda in December of 2006. For about the past four months, Code Pink has been protesting in front of the station.

"I believe in the Code Pink cause. The Marines don't belong here, they shouldn't have come here, and they should leave," said Berkeley Mayor Tom Bates after votes were cast.

A Marines representative did not respond to requests for comment.

issues education/values-
Teachers in British schools are being advised by the government to avoid using the phrase "mom and dad" ? and not to assume children have heterosexual parents. It's part of a sweeping new anti-discrimination effort that was produced for the government by a gay rights group.

Other guidance includes familiarizing students as young as four with the idea of same-sex couples. When discussing marriage with older students ? teachers are to instruct about civil partnerships and gay adoption rights. Schools are to encourage gay role models among staff members. And children who use the word "gay" are to be treated the same as racists.

---and long these lines would you agree "fathers day" might be an offinesive term/holiday considering your voting block. Maybe change it to
"Grandparents Day"
duh excuse me-make that "Grand Persons Day"

bro...slap me around like i owe you money....that`s what this forum`s all about....

and i can`t argue with the facts......bush has done everything in his power to ruin any attempts at border enforcement......i`d use the word "failure",but, that would imply that bush was actually "trying" to close the border....and he`s not...as a matter of fact,he`s standing in the way...

i won`t be crying any "poor bush" tears come november....he screwed the pooch on immigration....and a few other lil` items...

the problem for me is mccain`s no better....and for you guys,he`s probably more of a hawk than bush.....

if i weren`t sure that universal healthcare would be a disaster that will make the war expense seem like a drop in the bucket and be a total boondoggle, imight actually pull the lever for hill rather than sit this one out(that`s if mccain get the nomination)......

Biggest failure is/was not enforcing current laws--
If they simply withdraw federal funds from these sactuary cities--would go a long way at taking 1st step.

of course result would be--Dems getting 90% of both black and hispanic vote-

Case in point can someone point me to either H or O stance on illegal immigration

I'll be waiting :)

Wallace is tough? He may ask may ask, a tough question or two. But he always has the softball question for last so they can leave with lovev in the air. Dam can almost make you throw up. Lets see if he gives Hillary one of those. And watch camera work on how many close ups they do of her face.
Postion on border. Both have said follow the law.
Simple and why have we not. American companies ask that we don't. And everyone knows it.
Back to CNN debate. Was a sleeper. However I did like that the tit for tat chit was done away with so more question could get asked. It was sick watching Rommney and Mc Cain act like 5 year old kids. And what the hell is that loser Huck sticking around for. Must be trying to kiss ass for a VP shot from Mc Cain. He sure is hurting Rommney.

Exactly my point Wayne. I am very happy that Republican Senator Demint is drafting legislation to strip Berkley of its 2 million dollar earmarks because its city council does not want a Marine recruiting station.

Don't ya think this putz might want to concern himself with a slightly more important matter other than a headline grabbing inconsequential non issue?
Nope. Do something real and stop trying to get re-elected.

wow gw. You must make some serious cake if you paid more taxes under Clinton that you did under Bush. Good for you. I happen to not be able to live of my dividend yield investments and actually work for an income. I consider myself quite happy and conformtable at around the 6 figures that I am able to pull down, and I don't like excessive taxation any more the next guy. But my tax burden was not impacted at all really by the Bush tax cuts. And all things considered given energy and food costs I would say I was better off. I don't have any interests in burdening the working guy, the entrepreneur, or anybody else with bullshit entitlement programs. I do think that old tired mantra of the "tax and spend" liberal given the recent patterns of spending since Reagan is a bit of a misnomer.

Pretty much the same crap for the past 25 years. Election season comes around and suddenly the GOP is the "party of family values, pro-hetero, pro-mom, pro-apple pie, pro- red white and blue." And then these infidelitous, coke snorting, black out drunk, draft dodging, deficit spending, flag waving hippocrites "toe tap" (or whatever it is you do to pick up male prostitutes in Minnesota airline bathrooms) there way into office.

Looks like the interviews will be aired twice @ 2 and 6.

Would be curious what questions those from each side would like to see Wallace pose to either person?
Got 3 I'd like to see Hilliary expand on.

1st
What are your solutions to illegal immigration/ and sanctuary cities inparticular.

2nd On iraq-as president would your goal be to win and then withdraw--or just withdraw and if you knew what youknow now would you have voted for surge if you had it to do over?

3rd You and your party have adamantaly brought to forefront past 7 years about solvency of SSN-Medicare/Medicade--how are do plan shore up these gov plans while adding yet another (grand dandy of all) universal healthcare to equation.
