he needs to be fired tonight, not wait until tomorrow or the end of season. he has made the worse decision tonight I have ever seen by a head coach at pop warner, high school, college, or the NFL.

reasons

1- go for TD at the pitt 1 yard line losing by score of pitt 13- det 12. agree with this call as any Nfl team should be able to score from the 1 yard line with 2 chances. just needed a better play selection as they have not run on pitt all night.

2 - fast forward to next possession as now same situation but losing 20- 12. TD and a 2 point conversion ties the game after you have already not scored from the 1 yard last possession and game is on the line and need a TD. so it is 4th down again at the 1 yard line and caldwell decides to kick a field goal to make it 20 -15 which is so fucking stupid as he needs to understand the game. this was just giving up.

3- all NFL teams work on goal line plays every week and he should have had at least 1 or 2 plays which were special for the situation.

4- every team has special plays for a game tying or game winning 2 point conversion. does caldwell' s consist of a field goal, do not think it is allowed

just my 2 cents worth as you know from this post I was on dertoit

I'll never understand how these are the best 30 people on the planet we can find to coach NFL teams. The majority of them lack basic understanding of normal game situations, trust even bigger morons to call plays and I'm not sure any of them understand how to manage a clock.

Ever seen Tomlin try to manage the game glock? It's among the most comical things you may ever see, and it happens week after week.

THESE are the best 30 we have for the job? God help us.

A likely scenario, but unknown, if they'd kicked that FG instead of going for the TD, they are only down 3, then when they kicked their last FG, they are ahead by 1, Pitt drives down and kicks the go ahead FG and Detroit covers.

Geez, agree totally about these coaches. Gotta wonder sometimes with the decisions they make and pointspreads..............:scared

Lions were definitely the right side. Pitt had no business winning that game let alone covering. Ben looked like Wyatt Clapper at times.

Ben had some bad moments, but it wasn't anywhere near THAT bad.

Steelers covered based on how well the D played in the redzone. Not sure how that makes Detroit the right side?

They covered well in the red zone or the play calling for Detroit in the red zone was shit? I don't think the steelers defense did anything great last night. Secondary is shit

We should have Won. Thought they should have kicked but also thought we should have scored three TD's.

I will back my coach and just yell at the TV and my Cat.
