the man's pocket!
I have just finished reading another post about how a respected capper from this site is going pay. I have no problem with anyone using their skills to make money. However, MadJacks is a FREE site and should not be used to develop or promote a business. Every time someone develops a following and has a good record this happens. Someone contacts them and says hey become a part of my pay service. I don't need to mention names but if you have been here for years like me, you know who I mean. Well, if that is what you want to do fine, go and do it. But your goodbye posts are 100% unnescessary and written merely to try and attract customers. You wanna leave and go the pay route, fine, just do it you don't have to post here and tell us about it. I hope Jack begins to start deleting these emails, since this is his site and his business. Shame on anyone who is here to develop a client base :nono: :moon: Just my 2 cents. Oh and by the way, every time someone leaves people freak out for a little while, but interesting how someone new who is good always pops up, way too many good people around for free to EVER think about paying for picks, plus it is the kiss of death when you go pay, the LOSING streak always begins

This site would be a relative ghost town if you booted everyone with aspirations of going pay. I am not saying that everyone here has a centered goal of starting a pay service. Some don't. I would say a majority would go pay if they thought they had a legitimate chance to "make it" as a pay service. There are some where it doesn't matter how much money they make, they won't sell their picks.

I don't have a major problem with pay services as long as they are honest, but I do have a problem with the way people take advantage of this site. Basically what I have seen is a bunch of rank amateurs try to cash in on a decent posted record (sometimes a fudged record). There are exceptions like fletcher, kcwolf and Steel City who are pros or have pros working for them, but every other service I've seen originate from Mad Jack's is basically just some square who had a good year or two posting picks getting in over his head with trying to make a quick buck by starting a service.

Hey nick, I've stuck for you in the past, but now your being stupid. How do you know if Chenker or Volfan, thunder etc records are fudged and to call them a square is being disrespectful. Your record as a handicapper sucks period!! and although you write alot better than most, what do you bring to this forum:rolleyes:

Nick to say that the purpose of most the cappers on this site is to go pay, is disengentious(i can't spell), and if they do, god bless them if they have the balls and thick skin to go for, hell it's better than hiding behind a keyboard and pretending to be someone that their not.

As someone who doesn't have the time to cap games, I look forward to chenker, fletch, thunder posts because they have made me alot of money in the past FOR FREE, WILL i PAY FOR PICKS, NO.

In regards to the mini-theme of Jimmy V, I've got to say that he certainly was an admirable guy with the way he dealt with his cancer and the hope he's brought to so many others through his foundation. With that said, Jimmy Valvano was one of the dirtiest college coaches in college basketball, he was very unethical. Please don't flame me, I don't think it defines him as a person. I think what he did with what he was given was admirable, I just find it hard to 100% overlook the type of person he was before he was dealt the challenge of cancer.

Oh, and as far as the orginal post, here's my 2 cents. Madjack's used to be about sharing and helping. Don't get me wrong, everyone still looks out for each other for the most part, but in the past I really felt like people were here to help each other make money. Lately, this forum has become more of a platform for people post, gain followers, and then go pay. I disagree with you Nick, I don't think a majority of the people here want to go pay. I, like most people, have way too much shit in my life to deal with that responsibility. I just think that with all of those great cappers leaving, they were like the glue of MJs. With them gone, in comes more people who are just here to start trouble.

As far as Jack stopping this from happening, why should he? First and foremost to him, this is a business. The people like Chenker and Fletcher bring readers, and to him that's the main goal. And in doing so, jack provides a great site that is well maintained. So don't expect things to change. As long as the bills keep getting paid and people still get the site hits, things will continue.

man, you are a real a$$hole, it's not about cancer awareness, it's about just a tasteless attempt at humor basically, if you gotta stoop that low for laughs that is a sad commentary

Nowhere in my thread did I say it was good humor. I was merely stating that I don't understand why everyone gets all worked up about Jimmy V, like dicky vitale, and go on and on and on about him and how great he was. There are plenty of people who get cancer and stand up with courage. The guy was not one of the greatest contributers to society before his illness.
